The launch will make more products available for faster shipping on StockX

Customers can shop with confidence knowing every order is backed by the StockX Buyer Promise

April 2, 2025 [DETROIT]  — In a move to unlock faster delivery for a greater variety of products and offer select sellers more selling options, on April 3, 2025, StockX will launch ‘Verified Seller.’ The new program will allow a select group of approved sellers to ship products directly to buyers. In order to be designated a StockX Verified Seller, individuals must undergo a rigorous vetting and onboarding process designed to ensure the integrity of the customer experience. At launch, products from the Verified Seller Program will account for less than 1% of StockX’s total volume. The program will scale over time and expand globally, but StockX will continue to hold Verified Sellers to the highest standards. Products sold by all other sellers will continue to be routed to a StockX facility to be verified before being sent to the buyer.

“StockX was among the first marketplaces to make product verification a top priority, and that isn’t going away. We’ve spent millions investing in our physical verification process to make it as strong as possible, and we spent months meticulously designing the Verified Seller Program to ensure we uphold our high standards and meet the expectations of our customers. We believe this program does that while also providing access to more products that are all backed by our StockX Buyer Promise,” said StockX CEO Greg Schwartz. “When we innovate to improve the customer experience, everybody wins and StockX Verified Seller is the latest example of our commitment to doing just that.”

StockX Verified Sellers must follow a strict set of policies and standard operating procedures to remain in the Verified Seller Program. These include but are not limited to:

  • Background Checks: StockX conducts background and identity verification checks using our identity verification partners.
  • Compliance Standards: To maintain quality service and reliable transactions, StockX closely monitors seller performance to ensure they are adhering to our compliance standards. At any time, if a seller does not meet these standards, they will be removed from the program.
  • Performance Criteria: Sellers must maintain a consistent performance record for all orders. This includes strict adherence to our product condition guidelines, shipping deadlines, and other criteria.
  • Seller Training: Sellers in this program must participate in training on product listing guidelines, packaging, and shipping to adhere to StockX’s standard operating procedures.
  • Regular Audits: StockX will conduct regular audits of all sellers in the Verified Seller Program, to ensure compliance with StockX policies. This may include site visits and secret shopper audits.

Every item sold on StockX – regardless of whether it ships directly from a StockX Verified Seller, comes from StockX’s pre-verified Xpress Ship inventory, or is routed through the traditional verification process at a StockX facility – is backed by StockX’s Buyer Promise. The StockX Buyer Promise ensures that if a mistake is made (e.g. StockX incorrectly verifies an item, StockX or a StockX Verified Seller ships the wrong order, etc.) the company makes it right.

In addition to its Buyer Promise, StockX has a Returns Policy for US-based customers, offering an enhanced shopping experience with more flexibility for select items. US customers can return eligible items within 14 days of delivery for a full refund in the form of StockX credit, minus the original shipping cost. Returns are handled by StockX, and sellers are never responsible for taking back returned items. StockX plans to launch similar policies for additional markets in 2025. Additionally, customers based in Europe and the UK can exercise their right of withdrawal, and cancel their StockX purchase within 14 days of receipt.

StockX has invested millions of dollars to keep its customers safe and fight the proliferation of counterfeit products. Since its inception in 2016, StockX verification experts have reviewed more than 60 million items and turned away hundreds of millions of dollars worth of products that failed to meet the company’s verification requirements. StockX remains a leader among secondary marketplaces for its ongoing work to combat counterfeiters and give customers a safe and secure place to trade what they love.
