StockX Introduces Women’s Luxury Footwear, Adds New Category for Shoppers Looking Beyond Sneakers

StockX has expanded its catalog once again with the launch of women’s luxury shoes, unlocking access to a broader range of styles from sought-after brands including Amina Muaddi, Hermès, Chanel, Gucci, Prada, and Christian Louboutin. Today, more than a third of StockX users are women, and as this customer segment continues to grow, the company plans to introduce additional luxury footwear brands throughout 2022 and into next year. While the catalog expansion efforts focus primarily on women’s styles, StockX will also introduce new footwear offerings for men from brands including Hermès, Gucci, and Prada. 

As a part of the launch, StockX has also added a ‘Shoes’ category to its homepage. The new feature makes it easier for customers to discover the recently-added women’s footwear brands as well as other popular non-sneaker brands like Crocs, Birkenstock, and Timberland. 

“Consumers have looked to StockX for access to hard-to-find luxury handbags and accessories for years, so this launch was a natural next step for us. As our platform has grown, our customer base has diversified and we’ve built an even stronger relationship with our female customer base,” said Cynthia Lee, vice president of sneakers, apparel, and accessories at StockX. “In addition to serving this growing audience, the launch of women’s luxury shoes offers new benefits to our seller community. StockX sellers in Europe, in particular, have an immense opportunity to diversify their business and meet the growing demand from buyers in the United States and other parts of the world.” 

After an item is sold on StockX, the seller ships that product to a StockX authentication center where it undergoes a multi-part authentication process involving product accuracy checks, detailed reviews of the box, packaging, and accessories, and a condition verification, among other steps. If the product fails to meet StockX’s authentication standard, it is sent back to the seller. If the product passes, StockX ships the product directly to the buyer, marking the final step in the transaction. StockX recently announced the launch of its 12th authentication center in Berlin, Germany. The new location will help the company meet continued demand from its global customer base.
