It celebrates the collaboration between Michael Jordan and Spike Lee. The duo co-starred in commercials for many of the early Jordans. The first Spizikes made their debut in July of 2006, and at first, reviews were mixed. It's something of a Frankenstein shoe, combining the sole of the Jordan 3 with the tongue of an Air Jordan 6 and the upper of an Air Jordan 5. The lace loops come from the Air Jordan 4. This was alienating to some mature collectors who remembered the original Jordan releases. Younger consumers, however, loved the mashup. Today, the popular Spizike is available in a number of colorways. The most popular include the Olive Canvas/Cone-Black-Light Bone colorway and the Black/Dark Concord-White colorway.
