"Sell Now" and "Ask" are two ways to sell on StockX. "Sell Now" locks in a sale immediately at the current highest Offer; an "Ask" lets you set your price and wait for a buyer to meet it.
"Sell Now" vs. an "Ask"
"Sell Now" immediately sells your item to the buyer with the highest active Offer, even if that Offer is below the current lowest Ask. Use "Sell Now" when you want to lock in a sale quickly at the current market price.
Placing an "Ask" lets you set the price you want for your item. Buyers can only purchase from the lowest Ask available, so if your Ask is the lowest listed, a buyer will buy from you when they are ready to meet your Ask price.
Ask duration
When you place an Ask, you choose how long the Ask stays active: 1, 3, 7, 14, 30, or 60 days. StockX will email you before your Ask expires so you can extend the Ask if you choose to.
You can adjust your Ask price or cancel your Ask at any point before the Ask is matched with a buyer. To do so, click the "Sell" or "Ask" button on the product page, or go to your
StockX Selling tab under Account > Selling > Current.
Once a buyer meets your Ask, the sale is confirmed. You will receive instructions to ship your item to a StockX Verification Center, and payment follows once your item passes verification.
Managing your Asks and sales
To check the status of your listings, open the Selling tab in your StockX account. Listings are organized into three categories:
- Current displays all active Asks. Green numbers indicate your Ask is the lowest listed; red numbers indicate a lower Ask is available; black numbers indicate an inactive listing.
- Pending displays all sales currently in progress.
- History shows all completed sales.
