StockX supports buying and selling CGC-certified graded comic books through the
Verified Marketplace. Currently, graded comic books cannot be bought or sold on the Listings Marketplace, but stay tuned for updates as more categories are added. StockX only accepts comics with CGC Universal Grade (Blue) labels in grades 6.0–10.
How StockX verifies comics
StockX verifies all aspects of slabbed CGC comics, including grade, page quality, label details, issue number, release date, certification number, and any signs of damage such as cracking or scratches on the holder.
Accepted grades and label types
- CGC Universal Grade (Blue) labels in grades 6.0–10, with no apparent holder damage
- Older style CGC slab/holders, older CGC Universal and Modern Grade labels, and CGC's Custom Label Series are all accepted
- Not accepted: Signature Series Labels (Yellow), Restored Labels (Purple), and Qualified Labels (Green)
- Not accepted: noticeable condition issues such as holder cracks, scratches, glue or residue, writing on the slab or holder, and stickers
Accepted page quality
- White pages are accepted for all comics
- Most comic books printed after 1990 have white pages, as pulp paper was no longer used in the printing process
- Off-white to white pages are accepted for select titles where the majority of a comic's census population carries this page quality (this typically applies to comics from the mid-1960s through the late 1980s, when pulp paper was commonly used)
- Off-white, cream to off-white, and other page colors are not accepted, regardless of grade
Shipping
- US-based buyers: $13.95 USD flat rate
- International shipping varies by location; confirm your shipping cost in the final step before placing a new Offer or buying now
- Sellers should ship comics in a sturdy box with at least one inch of room on all sides, place the comic slab in a poly bag to help avoid scratches, and wrap the slab with paper or bubble wrap before placing it in the box
Please note: StockX is not responsible for comics damaged in transit due to improper packaging.
Expanding catalog
StockX regularly adds new comic book titles to the catalog. If a specific title is not currently listed, check back for new additions.
Storing your comic
Per CGC recommendations, store CGC-certified books in a dark, dry, cool, temperature-controlled location to minimize exposure to heat, humidity, vibration, and light. CGC-certified holders are designed to provide long-term protection and preservation when stored under these conditions.
