What Is De Minimis Value?

De minimis is the minimum shipment value a country uses to determine when customs duties and taxes apply to imported items. Many regions set a de minimis threshold that allows lower-value shipments to clear customs without duties or taxes. Some regions have no threshold, meaning every imported item is taxed regardless of value.

How the threshold is calculated
When customs authorities assess whether a shipment exceeds the de minimis threshold, the calculation includes:
  • The item price (your Offer price)
  • The shipping fee
  • The processing fee

If the combined total exceeds your region's de minimis threshold, duties and taxes apply to the shipment.

What affects your duties and taxes
  • De minimis thresholds vary by region and can differ depending on the type of tariff, so a shipment may be subject to some tariffs but not others.
  • Duties and taxes are based on the country of manufacture, not the location of StockX or the seller.
