In 2005, after parting with Adidas and partnering with Nike, Kobe Bryant debuted his first signature sneaker with the iconic swoosh brand. A work of art by veteran Nike designer Ken Link, these Kobe Bryant shoes seamlessly and tastefully balance classic silhouettes with then-fresh technology. Dual Zoom Air units provide enhanced spring, and carbon fiber shanks on the heel serve as a stabilizing agent. Aesthetically, the Kobe shoe’s notable Achilles cutout represents freedom of movement, a nod to the basketball legend’s agility on the court. The Kobe 1 comes in a variety of colorways, including the popular Kobe 1 Protro “81 Points”, released January 22, 2019 in honor of Kobe’s legendary game in which he scored 81 points.
