Mihara Yasuhiro is a luxury fashion brand founded in 1997 by the Japanese fashion designer of the same name. The brand is known for its unusual and edgy designs, and specializes in footwear and signature sneakers. The brand has also transitioned into apparel and has enjoyed much success in the last 20 or so years.

Mihara Yasuhiro was born in 1972 in Nagasaki, Japan. He is one of two famous Japanese designers, the other being Issey Miyake, to study at the renowned Tama Art University. He began his career while still in school, creating his first footwear collection in 1994. After honing his craft in shoe design for many years, he launched his menswear label in the luxury fashion market in 2004.

Mihara Yasuhiro is known for collaborations, most notably with Puma in 2000. In 2001, the two brands launched the bestselling Black Label. Considered very risky at the time for Puma to partner with a relatively unknown designer, the shoes became a hit in Japan and in other parts of the world. In addition to Puma, some other notable collaborations include Moncler, Fila, and DC. Collaborations such as these allowed the brand to showcase its mantra: “art should exist in the everyday".
