Milan Fashion Week brought the best in Italian fashion (and J.Lo) to the runway last week, from the likes of Gucci, Fendi, Prada, and Bottega Veneta – and we were living for it. Street styles continued to delight in Italy, especially when it came to bags. New and old favorites from the brands we love graced the streets, from Stella McCartney to Hermes, and Gucci.
Here’s a rundown of all the bags that weren’t on the runway from Milan Fashion Week.
The Fendi Bucket Bag
Fendi’s Mon Tresor bucket bag in the iconic FF pattern comes with two detachable shoulder straps so you can carry it multiple ways. Gold-tone hardware rounds out this luxe look that clearly goes well with denim.
The Stella McCartney Falabella Bag
Featuring ruthenium chain hardware and a top snap closure, Stella McCartney’s popular Falabella bag has clearly passed the longevity test – it has remained a fan favorite since it was first launched in McCartney’s Winter 2010 collection.
Dior isn’t the only fashion house reviving their bags of yore – Fendi’s Baguette bag which debuted in 1997 is having its moment, ever since it was reintroduced in Spring 2019. The bag comes with a magnetic “FF” clasp and gold-tone hardware, and can be worn several ways.
The iconic Kelly in miniature form also graced the streets of Milan. This structured bag features a top handle and plated turn lock and opens up to a matching leather interior. But do not let this delightfully tiny bag fool you – it comes at a hefty price.
Fendi’s bold Mania Belt Bag comes in Zucca coated canvas and opens up to a brown fabric interior. It has adjustable straps and gold-tone hardware, and is the perfect style-meets-functional bag to carry, whether you’re going to Italian fashion shows or getting coffee with the rest of us regular peasants.
No matter where you turn, you will not get away from this bag. Bottega Venneta’s “The Pouch” is everywhere. It remains to be seen whether it’s a coordinated bag attack helped by an army of influencers or a genuine international love affair with Bottega’s latest creation, but its classic shape and butter-like leather makes us think that it’s going to be here for a while.
The Louis Vuitton Multi-Pochette Accessoires
Another “it” bag of the moment, the Louis Vuitton Multi-Pochette Accessoires has remained a fashion show favorite all month long. This cross body combines three bags in one, giving you an array of carrying options, that is if you can get your hands on it.
Prada’s roomy and multi-pocketed Cargo Bag features two-tone double leather handles, a zipper closure on top and four outside zipped pockets in classic Prada nylon.
When it debuted in 2015, Gucci’s Dionysus was the brand’s biggest bag, and the fascination with the Dionysus hasn’t exactly stopped. This mini version is perfectly suited for the itty-bitty bag trend currently sweeping the world of fashion.
No bag can last the test of time like a Chanel quilted Top Handle Flap Bag. Though the one shown here is an older version, Chanel has continued to make the Top Handle in several colors and sizes.
