Supreme SS18 Review: Ranking The Drops

For part three of our Supreme SS18 Review, we took a look back at all 20 weeks of the past season, and ranked them according to popularity. The StockX Data Team pulled all the order volume numbers from the entire season, and put together a chart to help visualize the statistics. Check it out:

Traditionally, Supreme’s drops vary greatly from week to week. Some drops include collaborations, while others don’t. Earlier weeks always contain more products, as Supreme stocks their shelves for the new season on Week 1. Usually by the time Week 20 rolls around, as little as 8-10 items make up the entire drop. Let’s take a deeper dive into the numbers – and look back at Supreme’s top 5 most popular weeks and what items drove those drops to the top.

Honorable Mention: Week 19 (June 28th, 2018)supreme mona lisa teeWhile this week didn’t crack our top 5, it comes as no surprise that the drop that included Supreme’s annual “Summer Tees” collection was a smash hit. The set of seven tees included everything from the Mona Lisa to artwork from Richard Estes and the notorious “Gonz”. The Rocks Tee in Black led the way, however it shouldn’t overshadow the BACTrack Go Breathalyzer Keychain that did numbers. This drop had everything you might need for a safe summer night out on the town.

5. Week 4 (March 15th, 2018)

Supreme’s 4th week of the SS18 season included a rare 3-way collaboration. Supreme tapped Japanese designer Jun Takahashi and his Undercover brand, and utilized imagery and logos from Public Enemy. While collaborations with Undercover are a somewhat regular occurrence, Supreme hadn’t used PE graphics since a smaller capsule collection over 10 years ago in 2006. The White House Tee in Black anchored this week in the top 5 as one of the most popular items of the entire season, however the Skate Pants shouldn’t be overlooked as they netted hefty profits for sellers of over 100% on average.

4. Week 7 (April 5th, 2018)supreme tnf metallic teeWeek 7 saw the release of Supreme’s first North Face collaboration of the season, with a wide variety of items including parkas, hoodies, t-shirts, waist bags, shoulder bags, and more. While the Supreme/TNF Metallic Logo Tee in Black led the way in terms of volume, the Don’t Ask Me Stamp and surprise release of the Night Lite Keychain also contributed to this more-than-solid drop that sold out instantly.

3. Week 6 (March 29th, 2018)supreme coin bankPacked with a collaboration, surprise accessory, and more tees, Week 6 kicks off our top 3. This week included a collection from Nan Goldin comprised of jackets, hoodie, skate decks, and tees. We also saw additional t-shirt designs dropped, with the TV Tee being the most celebrated. The ever-popular Illusion Coin Bank also dropped this week as a surprise item that wasn’t included in the lookbook. Lookbook items like the Repeat Zip Up Hooded Sweatshirt helped round out an extremely solid week that easily ranks in the top 3 weeks of the SS18 Season.

2. Week 3 (March 15th, 2018)supreme air force 1 mid nba nikeIn the midst of a wild mid-March playoff push in the “Association”, Supreme dropped a Nike/NBA collab that turned heads both on and off the court. With NBA Star J.R. Smith modeling the product shots, the entire collection that included jerseys, shorts, jackets, and even a pair of Air Force 1 Mids carried this week towards the top. While the White Air Force 1 Mids drove the most volume, a water bottle from Sigg and pen from Kaweco also helped land this week towards the top.

1. Week 1 (February 22nd, 2018)supreme shoulder bagIt should come as no surprise that Week 1 claims the top spot in the SS18 season. With the most items dropping of any week (and also some the most popular items overall this season), Week 1 absolutely dominated the season. With a staggered in-store and online release generating even greater hype, everything from shoulder bags to backpacks, and t-shirts to skate decks sold out immediately. Supreme’s re-make of the “Illegal Business” graphic on decks and hoodies generated lots of hype and volume, but the classic all-black shoulder bag was the best selling item of this week, and of the season as a whole.

That’s it for this edition of our Supreme SS18 Review. Stay locked to StockX for more as we look back on the season in anticipation of Supreme’s FW18 collection.
