Fresh Set is an ongoing series where readers follow the newest StockX Watch team member, Hadjj, as he learns more about the in’s and out’s of watches.

We connect so much to characters from our favorite shows and movies that we end up admiring what they wear. I know as a sneakerhead, I would always want to see what characters were wearing on their feet. I remember one time I was watching a movie with some friends and completely nerded out when a pair of Nike Air Tech Challenge IIs came on screen. Nowadays, being around watches, I see myself looking at what’s on the actors/actress’s wrists more than anything now. From Tony Soprano consistently donning the classic Rolex Day-Date to 007 himself dressed to the nines in an Omega Seamaster, here are some watches that have caught my eye from the big screen.

Rolex Datejust + American Psycho Patrick Bateman

The Rolex Datejust can be seen on many wrists of Wall Street bankers. It comes as no shock to see American Psycho‘s Patrick Bateman wearing the iconic watch. In the movie, Bateman cares heavily about how he’s portrayed by his colleagues, so he tries to play the part by wearing something quintessential to the “typical banker”.

Omega Seamaster + Casino Royale James Bond

The James Bond character has evolved over the years. and so has his watch taste. From the beginning, the author of the original 007 novels religiously wore Rolex watches. You can see OG Bond character Sean Connery wearing a Submariner in the first film. From there, Bond has worn many other brands such as Breitling and Seiko. Bond and Omega have their own relationship, to the point where there are official collaborations between the movie and the brand, some of which are on our site now!

Rolex Day-Date + The Sopranos Tony Soprano

Couldn’t make this list without the notorious Tony Soprano. Tony can be seen wearing a Rolex Day-Date throughout the entirety of the 6 season The Sopranos show and it makes sense why. The Rolex Day-Date is a watch that has been worn by some of the most powerful people on the planet, such as presidents and other world leaders. If you’ve watched the show, you’d understand how much of a powerhouse this man is and for that, the Day-Date is a perfect match.

Panerai Luminor Base + Daylight Kit Latura

The Panerai Luminor is created for aqua exploration and Sylvester Stallone’s character in Daylight did a lot of it. The Luminor was made in the 50s and used by Italian Naval forces, but made popular by Kit Latura himself. Since then, Stallone can be seen wearing many Panerai watches throughout his other films, such as The Expendables.

Tag Heuer Monaco + Le Mans Michael Delaney

The Monaco’s appearance in the movie Le Mans really helped the watch make a name for itself. The watch itself was worn by the great Steve McQueen, the poster child for cool, making this watch 10x more iconic. The funny thing is, outside of this film, McQueen was really a Rolex guy in his private life.

Omega Speedmaster + Apollo 13 Fred Haise

Besides the moon landing, the Apollo 13 movie also contributed to the success of the Omega Speedmaster. The historical context of the famed mission also holds significance for the watch, being the timepiece of choice for the space travelers. We did a piece on the relationship between Omega and NASA that you can find here, showing the watch’s journey. With the combination of the film and its involvement in a monumental moment in American history, the Speedmaster can be considered a classic timepiece that is recognizable to any watch lover.
