This article is part 15 of 22 in the series: Warming Up To Fall

The time to prepare for the holidays is now. Black Friday is less than a month away and we already know that shortages will be the norm this year. If you or your loved one is a gamer, it is crunch time. Next-gen consoles have been sold out for nearly a year and it’s been announced that those shortages could last well into 2022. Fortunately, StockX has everything you need to get right into the game right now including everything from Playstation 5s to the new OLED Nintendo Switch, and it’s all in stock. So don’t wait until the last minute or even Black Friday, get ahead and get gaming now.

Sony PlayStation 5 PS5 Blu-ray Edition Console

Believe it or not, the Sony Playstation 5 is the most popular product on StockX from the last year. And while the resale price is certainly higher than retail, it’s still significantly lower than it was during the 2020 holiday season. As far as specs go, the Playstation 5 features an 825GB ultra-high-speed SSD and 4K visual capabilities which basically means it’ll load faster and look more amazing than any console you’ve ever played before. With a host of new gaming titles released in the last year, there’s more to play on the PS5 than ever before and at the current price, now is a good time to lock it in.

Microsoft Xbox Series X

If you’re more of an Xbox household, don’t worry, we’ve got those in stock as well. Similar to the Playstation, this console has been hard to get your hands on due to essentially the same supply chain challenges. Even after a whole year, customers still can’t just walk into a retailer and pick one of these up. The Xbox Series X features improved graphics and faster gaming, courtesy of its 1TB custom NVMe SSD and its ability to run at 120 frames per second. For those who’ve become acquainted with the Xbox ecosystem over the years, an upgrade is made easy on StockX, where we’ve got the console and its games and accessories in stock now.

Nintendo Switch (OLED)

Nintendo has long been doing their own thing, deviating from the console war that takes place every few years between the Xbox and the Playstation. Their innovative Switch was originally launched in 2017 and this year it saw an OLED technology upgrade. The new Nintendo Switch OLED features a vibrant 7-inch OLED display, louder speakers, and double the storage of the original model at 64GB. Just like the original model, the Switch OLED can be docked and played on a TV display. If you’re looking to get your hands on this year’s most exciting new console, StockX has you covered.

Sony PS5 PlayStation 5 DualSense Wireless Controller

For those who already have a Playstation 5 or plan to get one, having an extra controller is a necessity. This particular controller was originally released alongside the Playstation 5 last November and since then it’s become one of the more popular electronics on StockX. It’s also available right now for nearly 50% of its retail price. That’s right, this Playstation 5 Controller regularly sells for close to $30, even though it retailed for $70. So skip the line and get a less expensive price right from your couch with a Playstation 5 controller on StockX.

Bethesda PS5 Deathloop Video Game

We know that most people these days are purchasing their games digitally and for the most part, that’s the smartest thing to do. Getting a physical copy of the game really only makes sense when that game can be purchased for a lower price than digital. Fortunately, StockX has a lot of games for under retail, including Bethesda’s latest hit Deathloop. From the hit studio that’s given us Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and Doom Eternal,  Deathloop is an open-world “murder-puzzle” from Bethesda studios. The game has a Ground-Hog Day-esque plot where every day is exactly the same, the goal is to slowly learn exactly how to achieve all of your goals before the day is up. This open-world first-person shooter has received shining reviews, receiving 10/10 ratings from IGN, Gamespot, and TheGamer. Also, with Sony acquiring Bethesda, this may be one of the last titles from the studio that isn’t an Xbox exclusive.

Ubisoft Xbox One/X Far Cry 6 Standard Edition Video Game

Far Cry is one of those game franchises, like Assassin’s Creed or Fallout, that’s always done well and always delivers a compelling story. For their sixth Far Cry title, Ubisoft has opted for a similar story as before. It’s an open-world game where the goal is to buck the authority of some kind of dictator-slash-emperor figure. The villain, Anton Castillo, is played by Giancarlo Esposito, well-known as a different villain in the popular drama, Breaking Bad. IGN gave this title an 8/10, which is a solid rating, especially for a game that can be purchased for just $20 a month after its release. If you or a loved one are looking for a new game to play this winter, grab Far Cry 6 on StockX for ⅓ of its retail price.
