It’s officially summer and the temps are climbing faster than you can say “summertime gladness.” 2020 has been all about riding the wave and staying flexible, and this season is going to continue that trend. So we’re going to follow the Heat Wave.

Whether you’re approaching your Boiling Point, are looking to Sweat It Out, or even just Catch Some Rays, we have suggestions to keep your whole summer fitted fresh and comfortable. We’re all in this together. So, we’ve got to ask you: Will you ride this Heat Wave with us?

adidas YZY QNTM Barium

Rising temps means it’s time to get outside and work up a sweat. With professional sports mostly on pause, there’s no reason you can’t become the star of your own championship – and there’s definitely no reason not to hit the court. If you want to stay comfortable and beautifully bouncy while hooping, the adidas YZY QNTM Barium, Kanye West’s first official basketball shoe with adidas, might be the perfect addition to get in the proper workout. Just be sure to pull double duty by staying safe with good support on your feet and observing responsible habits while playing with others.

Nike x Travis Scott Air Max 270 React “Cactus Trails”

Sometimes a solo sojourn is just what the doctor ordered to raise the heart rate, making running the perfect high temp workout. If you’re going for a jog, there’s no better time to lace up the fan-favorite Air Max with a hype twist. The Air Max 270 has spiked in popularity for fashion-conscious health nuts, and as soon as Travis Scott signed on to take on a pair you knew it was a wrap. We’ve come to expect the unexpected from La Flame, but what remains consistent is a thoughtful collage of tones and textures, and these 270s are no exception. Browns, tans, and greys come together in nubuck and terry, while pops of blue, orange, and red appear all over. The star of the look is the overlaying waves on the upper that continue through the midsole. These kicks scream movement and will help propel you through the next mile.

Anti Social Social Club Mind Games Hoodie

If you’re serious about sweating it out, you’re going to need to throw on another layer. We know it’s already hot out there, but this Anti Social Social Club Mind Games Hoodie is going to let you turn up the dial to the next level and get you to the fighting shape you’re looking for. Word of warning: we don’t want you overheating, so act responsibly. But between the cushy soft cotton and comfy fit, you’re not going to want to take it off. So go ahead and blast the A/C.

Louis Vuitton Bumbag Monogram

No matter where you’re going to work up a sweat, you’ll need a place to stash your smaller goods in a bag that doesn’t overwhelm or weigh you down. This classic Louis Vuitton Bumbag in Monogram Brown takes the trend of fannypacks to the best extreme. It’s the perfect size to hold your wallet, phone, keys, and a fresh teeshirt (please pack a fresh teeshirt), and it will force you to leave everything else at home. We love the Monogram application as a reminder to everyone around that you’re taking this seriously and are willing to invest in yourself. Well, it’s either that or you’re just flexing. Both are valid.

Supreme x Nalgene 32 oz. Bottle Red

As the temps go up and we all get more active, it’s important that you keep your body moving right and you stay hydrated. If you’re going to hit those eight glasses a day (or follow the one ounce per pound rule), you’ve got to stay vigilant and the easiest way to do that is to keep a water bottle on you at all times. One of the best options is this Supreme x Nalgene from the waterbottle experts. At 32oz, you can hit your minimum with just two fills, all while keeping your hype impulses in check. Chug-a-lug, bud.

Air Jordan 1 Obsidian UNC

Hydration can also be a state of mind. It’s not just making sure your body is well primed for action, but also making sure your mind is right there too. The Air Jordan 1 Obsidian UNC reminds us of clear blue waters to refresh the spirit. Whether it’s an azure lake, a crystal clear sea, a cool bathtub, or just a fantasy behind closed eyes, these Jordans help us take the plunge into whatever refreshment we need.

Air Jordan 3 Varsity Royal Cement

The Air Jordan 3 is a fan favorite for a host of reasons (not least of which is that it was Tinker Hatfield’s first venture into the Jordan line, pivoting the entire brand into the famed future it would earn), but we love that it doesn’t immediately read as a basketball shoe. It has a heft to it that feels substantial and stylish without being overly athletic. The lack of swoosh makes for wide swaths of paneling, and when Jordan Brand threw some deep royal blue pebbled leather on the 3s not too long ago, it turned the shoes into a wavy and inviting pool. Reflect on that and dive right in.

Dior And Shawn Ring

Hydration isn’t all about the water, sometimes it’s about the drip. The “Dior and Shawn” collection from Dior and Shawn Stüssy, the namesake and founder of Stüssy, is all about that drip. The sparkles you see aren’t diamonds, which is going to make this ring much more affordable than it would be otherwise, but that’s not the point. It’s all about how you want to be seen and what you want to say, and this ring screams that you’re staying very hydrated. The squared-off face of the ring pushes it off the finger, bringing the Stüssy scripted Dior logo to the forefront. It’s a look that’s unmissable on the fist.

Nike Dunk Low University Red

If it gets a little hot for your taste and the thermometer reaches the boiling point, you just might start seeing red. That’s okay. Red is a good look. The latest radical rendering in red is the Nike Dunk Low in University Red. If you’re looking to get on the resurgent trend of Nike Dunks, you could do far worse than this pair. The white and red come together for a pair that is super clean, bold but not aggressive, and will be just as wearable in the depths of winter as in the peak of summer. On a scale of 1 to 10 these are definitely 100°.

Supreme x Swingline Stapler

Our hearts leaped when we first saw the Supreme x Swingline Stapler in that beautiful bold red, not just because we were excited to lock it down with a Supreme stapler, but it also gave us flashbacks to Milton burning down Initech in a rage after his mistreatment – that included losing his red Swingline stapler (albeit temporarily). We’re not suggesting you blow your top the same way he did, but surrounding yourself with heat – from your fit to your desk – is a great habit.

Air Jordan 6 Hare

The Air Jordan 6 Hares are definitely heat, but they’re more of a simmer than a boil. The colorway is inspired by the Air Jordan 7 Hare that was first introduced by Bugs Bunny in Space Jam, and this newest translation holds onto the subtleties that made the OG such a winner. Stone grey nubuck and white leather set the stage for peachy pink details that add just the right contrast creating a fresh bright look. These sneakers have just enough retro references to make the kicks feel legit.

KAWS Take Figure Pink

When you reach your boiling point, sometimes you need to just chill out. While other times, if you’re hot enough, you might need someone to hold you back. This KAWS Take Figure in Pink shows a BFF holding a Companion, probably for comfort, but we like to think that Companion was ready to throw hands and the BFF is just keeping everything civil. Whether you see cuddles or capture, the Take Figure can sit on just about any mantle or table, ready to help bring you down from a boil and find some cooler water.

OFF-WHITE Logo Swim Shorts

When faced with an undertow, sometimes the best move is just to ride the wave. Whether it’s a trend or a tide, going with the flow can help maintain mental peace. If you’re looking to take the plunge this summer, these OFF-WHITE Logo Swim Shorts offer the perfect blend of a minimalist look with recognizable branding. We love a black swim short as a stand out from classic bright floral prints, plus these can also work as a regular daily short if the pool or ocean never beckons. Anyone who catches the OFF-WHITE branding will get the message that you care and know you’re putting in the effort to create a summertime fit, but it won’t overwhelm those who are averse to over branding.

Supreme Known As Towel

Riding the wave is a lot more fun if you know how you’re going to dry off. Supreme, ever the arbiter of the drip, was wise enough to drop a towel this season, wicking away every bit of excess. The message from this Supreme towel is perfectly poised for a moment when lockdowns and social distancing are making people feel a little low. “We Wanted To Be Known As Supreme” is an awesome reminder that we are what we make ourselves to be and that in this one life you get to define yourself. That sentiment can show up anywhere from the conception of your full identity all the way to what you want your towel to say. So live your life, ride the wave, and stay dry between the dips.

Casio G-Shock x NASA DW5600NASA20

Whatever ride you’re riding, you’ve got to make sure you’re fully fitted and ready for anything, and that includes sticking to your schedule and staying on time. You know any watch we were going to suggest for summer was going to be waterproof and this Casio G-Shock x NASA strap will keep you as timely as an astrophysicist. The watch is white with minimal branding, making the look super smooth. But one of our favorite elements is the wrist-worn reminder that when astronauts train on Earth they train underwater. This isn’t just a logo on a watch; you can do your own version of astronaut training under the waves and hit every deadline along the way.

Air Jordan 1 Royal Toe

The first step to riding the wave is dipping your toe into the drink, and no recent shoe has that dippy toe quite like the Air Jordan 1 Royal Toe. You know this color treatment: it started with the Fragment 1s and has been used on Jordan 1s ever since: it starts with black and white and bouts of color appear on the vamp, collar, and outsole. This time it’s the Royal blue made famous on the OG Royals, the blue and black Jordans that MJ wore during the sneaker’s debut year. This new CW is a way to grab onto that classic look while still riding a newer wave.

BAPE PARKAS0 Sunglasses

Even while you’re hungry catching rays, you’re going to want to miss a few too. It’s just science. Your eyes need protection, but those sunnies can be as much a statement as a tool. These BAPE PARKAS0 Sunglasses are classic BAPE style mixed up for a perfectly protective pair. The iconic BAPE first camo in a friendly forest green covers the temples, making them immediately identifiable, while the BAPE shark makes a small and surprising appearance. Make no mistake, these glasses aren’t a replacement for a Shark Hoodie, but a fair homage for fairer weather.

Louis Vuitton 1.1 Millionaires Sunglasses

There’s missing rays and then there’s blocking the world out just so you can sit peacefully in the sun. Nothing says “Leave me out of it,” quite like the Louis Vuitton 1.1 Millionaires, and when they’re in Pale Green that warning comes with a smile. We love these shades that are the hue of classic milk glass, a fresh verdant color that feels at home in the spring and summer while also brightening up darker, colder months. And when you’re ready to drop this much on a pair of sunnies you know you better be able to wear them all year long. These are a good reminder that the sun shines in every season, not just when the temps are high.

Air Jordan 1 Tie Dye

While these deservedly popular Jordan 1s are dubbed “Tie Dye” for the spiral leather print, they also remind us of cyanotype, the monochromatic printing process where chemicals react to light and turn blue. (That’s actually where “blueprints” originally come from, using the process for facsimiles of architectural and engineering schematics.) Regardless of the thematic inspiration, these Tie Dye Jordan 1s are perfect for any sunny day, offering a bright and expressive joy to any look. The sneakers were a sleeper hit, so don’t be looking for a deal, and make sure that you get the right size: the shoes were a women’s release so take that into account.

Air Jordan 13 Retro Ray Allen PE

While you’re out under the sun catching some rays, it’s the perfect time to pay homage to one of our favorite rays: Ray Allen. These green detailed Air Jordan 13 Ray Allen PEs are one of our favorite player exclusives ever man. Green is a tough color for footwear, but these kicks prove it can be done well. They’re still such a perennial hit that Jordan Brand is releasing a similar colorway later this year in a slightly brighter green, but we’re fans of this shade that has a richer vibe. And speaking of rich, you might need to secure an extra bag to cop them. They’re not cheap.
