The waist bags, shoulder bags, and backpacks have been the biggest hits of the Fall/Winter 2018 Supreme season. If prices continue to mirror last season, expect profits to climb.

Thus far, the biggest hits of the Fall/Winter 2018 Supreme season have been the waist bags, shoulder bags, and backpacks. Roughly 300 items were released in Week 1, and yet the Supreme FW18 bags made up an astounding 30% of total sales.

Despite having been on the market for 3 full weeks, the Supreme FW18 bag bags have consistently ranked in the top 5 in sales each and every day since their August 20 drop. And profits have been significant:

Thus far, prices on the FW bags have tracked almost perfectly with their Spring/Summer counterparts. Last season’s shoulder bag debuted at $113; this season’s version debuted at $119. Last season’s waist bag debuted at $124; this season’s debuted at $131. And last season’s backpack debuted at $204. While this season’s debut at $210.

Assuming the FW18 bag prices continue to mirror those of last season, resellers should think twice before flipping too fast. SS18 bag prices saw significant gains between the time of their release in February and the end of summer. There was a large restock in May that caused a temporary price decline. But the overall trajectory was decidedly positive.

This was especially true over the summer months, when bag prices increased dramatically. The following chart shows how the waist bag, shoulder bag, and backpack prices behaved between late May and the end of August:

Between the Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends, the SS18 backpacks saw average prices increases of 25%; SS18 shoulder bags increased an average of 68%; and SS18 waist bags climbed an astounding 84% – nearly doubling their resale price in the course of just 3 months.

The FW18 bags are already yielding significant profits on the secondary market; but if resellers can exercise patience, there are likely larger paydays not too far down the road.
