Jordan 5 Retro SE Oregon

Long before the most prominent athletes in the world donned the Swoosh, Nike’s focus was giving University of Oregon athletes a competitive advantage with revolutionary products. This week, Jordan Brand pays homage to the Ducks with the release of the Jordan 5 Retro SE Oregon.

The Jordan 5 SE Oregon colorway draws inspiration from a Jordan 5 PE that was gifted to Oregon student-athletes in 2014. The sneaker’s upper is smothered in Apple Green Durabuck with hits of yellow and black. Unlike the PE version, Oregon branding is replaced with traditional Jumpman on the tongue and a Team Jordan tag heel, similar to last year’s Jordan 5 Michigan release. A black midsole and icy translucent outsole completes this collegiate masterpiece.

Nike Dunk Low Community Garden

Between SB grails and SP retros, the Nike Dunk Low has been on full takeover mode in 2020. Fan-favorite colorways like Syracuse and Kentucky made a comeback in the spring and summer followed suit with re-releases of the St. Johns and Brazil Dunks. Nike is mixing it up and adding a new look to the Dunk Low catalog this fall with the unique Nike Dunk Low Community Garden.

The Nike Dunk Low Community Garden, also known as the Lemon Wash, brings the Travis Scott SB vibes without the fat tongue and rope laces. Dyed and printed canvas materials cover the upper in patchwork style while hits of red, teal, and gold appear on the toe box, Swoosh, and heel tab. The design’s patchwork graphics are applied in a random pattern so that each pair appears as a one-of-one. A white midsole and Grind Rubber outsole, which is primarily featured in the Space Hippie collection, add the finishing touches.

Yeezy Boost 380 Pepper

Following massive releases like the FOAM RNNR and 700 V3 Arzareth, Yeezy is expanding their 380 line with the Yeezy Boost 380 Pepper. The 380 picks up where the 350 left off by providing a comfortable, breathable runner that is built for daily wear.

The Yeezy 380 Pepper appears as if it is the inverse colorway of the Yeezy 380 Mist. A light brown side spot is still present on the Primeknit upper, but instead of a primarily dark grey and brown look, the Pepper colorway features a lighter feeling with hits of light blue and grey. As usual, a dark translucent BOOST sole provides the ultimate cushioning experience that keeps Yeezy fans coming back for more.

The Yeezy Boost 380 Pepper is set to release in Europe this Saturday, September 12th for $230 on the adidas app and at select Yeezy stockists. An official US release has been pushed back to September 17th.

Jordan 1 Zoom Crater

Jumpman joins the Space Hippie movement and is releasing an eco-friendly classic with the Jordan 1 Zoom Crater. The Crater moniker not only comes from the colorway’s otherworldly appearance, but also because of the Crater Foam, a sustainable cushioning system made of Grind Rubber and foam, that is found in each shoe’s midsole.

The Jordan 1 Zoom Crater features a black and grey upper that is composed primarily of recycled materials. Red stitching accents along the heel stand out from the muted silhouette, adding another dimension that is often lost in monotone colorways. Exposed foam on the ankle lining, a white speckled midsole, and a multicolor outsole composed of Nike Grind and “space junk” materials add the finishing touches to this updated marvel.

adidas Superstar Prada

After seeing releases like the Jordan 1 Dior, the idea of an haute couture fashion house collaborating with powerhouse sportswear brands is compelling. Designer sneaker collabs offer the best of both worlds. Sportswear brands provide an iconic silhouette to work from and fashion houses provide exceptional craftsmanship and quality. This week, Prada has teamed up with adidas once again to add new colorways to their line of luxurious adidas Superstars. 

The adidas Superstar Prada combines German design with Italian atelier quality in the best ways. The silhouette is the same traditional Superstar as always. The key difference lies in quality. All three colorways (black, silver, and white) feature premium materials throughout the upper down to the shell toe and sole. Prada and adidas branding on the heel, tongue, and insoles lets casual onlookers know that these are not your regular Superstars.
