Chicago artist and creative Joe Freshgoods has crafted some of the most sought-after New Balance collaborations to hit the sneaker market in the past few years, and the New Balance 9060 is no different. His partnership with New Balance began back in 2020 when he worked on a collection called “No Emotions Are Emotions” which showcased his first crack at the New Balance 992 and OMNI1. Even with the non-traditional name, sneakerheads fell head over heels for the footwear, with many waiting in line in the middle of brutal winter midwestern chills at Freshgoods’ Chicago pop-up for the coveted release. Since then, Joe Freshgoods has released a 990v3 in 2021 and this 9060 in 2022. The New Balance 9060 is a new model to the New Balance family, as its design “warps and exaggerates design elements taken from the classic 990 series with a boldly futuristic outlook,” says New Balance on their site. Inspired by nostalgic summer memories, the 9060 features warm tones of pink, red, and green throughout, making for a colorful release just in time for the season.
