For this week, we put together A Perfect Fit for Notre's latest collection with Vans.

This article is part 32 of 42 in the series: A Perfect Fit

Vans and Notre are back at it again, this time reworking the OG Style 36 LX. Notre, a sneaker and clothing boutique out of Chicago, has only been around for eight years but has since landed some major collaborations with heavyweight brands like Nike and Advisory Board Crystals. Their partnership with Vans seems to be their most consistent to date, as this year’s release marks their third installment to their now four-year alliance. At this rate, with the number of collabs that Notre garners, one might need help styling more of their releases. From cardigans to timepieces, check out StockX to help make A Perfect Fit.

One can make a case that as both a brand and a shop, Notre is all about openness and connection. The store, located in the West Loop neighborhood of Chicago, has an airy layout, ditching restrictive doors and invasive walls, swapping them for an open-concept store that allows for free-flowing conversation. Notre highlights many of the local businesses, artists, and talent that the city produces, all through a series of “Q+A” video interviews. And, to top it off, their signature handshake logo makes its way onto many of their collaborative projects, almost like a tongue-in-cheek note to consumers that two brands connected to create something unique.

Their most recent release with Vans continues that synchronic ethos with another subtle offering, similar to their past Vans releases on low-top silhouettes. For this collection, as explained by Notre on their Instagram, Notre “wanted to emphasize the unique but familiar ways in which we each choose to enjoy our favorite drinks in hopes of shedding light on the little things that connect us all”. Each colorway from this drop, Matcha, Tea, and Espresso, is named after a classic drink frequently sipped in the shop. The shoes feature high-quality hairy suede throughout the upper and replace Vans’ classic Jazz Stripe with Notre’s handshake logo. For those looking for a sneaker that’s calmer than most of today’s popular releases, then look no further than Notre’s Vans. An equally minimalist outfit is a great way to rock each pair of these skater shoes as well, so make sure to put A Perfect Fit together for the Vans OG Style 36 LX Notre.

Stüssy Shaggy Cardigan Eggplant

Since its inception in the late 1980s, Stüssy has created essential skatewear pieces, but has since expanded its line of clothing to include casual garments that appeal to a wider audience, not just skateboarders. An example of this inclusive catalog of clothing is this Stüssy Shaggy Cardigan in Eggplant. The shaggy material of this cardigan adds a distressed and vintage look to it when brushed, a similar shading effect that comes from the Notre Vans’ hairy suede. And its lack of branding on the piece makes this a great addition to the minimalist look of your new Vans.

Supreme Hanes Tagless Tees 3-Pack

No cardigan is complete without something to go underneath. Match the same subtle look of both your Notre Vans and Stüssy cardigan with these Supreme Hanes Tagless Tees. These tees make for great basics with a little added flair in the form of a Supreme Box Logo on the left corner. Pair a tee with the cardigan for a complete look that is both relaxed and casual. Or just rock the tee alone with your favorite pair of jeans, as its soft cotton construction makes it an easy choice for everyday wear.

Timex Q Timex HODINKEE Limited Edition

Continuing the subtle wave is this watch from Timex and Hodinkee. The Timex Q is one of the watchmaker’s most beloved pieces. As explained by Timex designer Giorgio Galli, the model made its return in 2019 so that Timex could “introduce this current younger generation of watch buyers to what Timex used to be”, all while maintaining the watch’s 1970s aesthetic. The Timex Q is traditionally recognized in its red and blue, GMT-Master inspired, look, but for Timex’s collaboration with the watch publication, Hodinkee, they changed all of those colors for something more muted. This collaborative watch features a white dial with silver rotating GMT bezel and pale yellow luminous markers. Timex and Hodinkee made this watch to be “worn all day, every day, regardless of what you’re doing or where you’re going” and similar to the Vans, it’s a piece that is easy to rock without the added stressors of something more flamboyant.

Supreme Velvet Chore Coat Cow

Maybe a minimalist look isn’t what you had in mind for these Notre Vans, and that is ok! StockX has a variety of louder statement pieces, like this Supreme Velvet Chore Coat. The eye-catching cow print on this jacket will look especially good with the matching brown from the Espresso Notre Vans. And a classic white tee, like the aforementioned Supreme Hanes tees, will be a nice way to complement both the jacket and the sneakers.

Louis Vuitton Keep It Bracelet

It’s not unusual to see the blending of skatewear with luxury. Back in 2019, former creative director for Louis Vuitton, Kim Jones, was responsible for one of the most renowned clothing collaborations of all time, Supreme and Louis Vuitton. And during the late Virgil Abloh’s tenure as CD right after Jones, Abloh continued bridging the gap between high-end and skatewear fashion with his skate-forward collections and pieces. So adding this Louis Vuitton Keep It bracelet to your Notre Vans fit isn’t so far fetched. Featuring LV’s classic Damier print in Azur White/Blue, the Keep It bracelet is both subtle in style but provides a nice added touch of luxury to a skateboard sneaker. Just like the Vans, this bracelet won’t be the loudest item in the room, but if paired nicely, it will make for a great addition to any fit.
