Almost Home is a London-based apparel brand that has quickly made a name for itself in the streetwear scene. The brand’s designs are focused on perfecting “Basic” pieces like t-shirts, crewnecks, hoodies, and sweatpants. Drawing their inspiration from a nostalgic, hand me down-like feeling, Almost Home delivers well constructed, high quality apparel items with a wholesome touch.

The Almost Home story starts in 2015, when Luke Murphy and Diego Barrueco met in Ireland. Barrueco was modeling for a brand that Murphy worked for and it wasn’t long before the two became friends and started talking about creating their own brand. As a model who was privileged with the opportunity to wear a lot of different clothing brands, Barrueco noticed that there was an opening in the industry for a basics brand that made high quality clothing for more moderate prices. That gap became the platform that Almost Home was founded upon.

Over the last few months, StockX has collaborated with Almost Home on several occasions. In February, StockX and Almost Home launched a collaborative colorway of the apparel brand’s popular hoodie and sweatpants, delivering it in a pink tie-dye Rapture Rose colorway. StockX and Almost Home returned to their collaborative partnership in August with a presence at Toronto’s Yorkville Murals Art Event. This event and Almost Home’s residence in StockX’s exclusive shipping container at the Zone 1 Yorkville Avenue road closure will be available to visit from August 20th – 28th.

Does Almost Home make high quality basics?

Due to both Murphy and Barrueco’s expertise in the fashion space, the duo has achieved their goal of providing well made apparel items for relatively affordable prices. Almost Home exclusively uses high quality materials in the construction of all of their apparel. Their hoodies, for example, are handcrafted from a 515gsm reverse weave 100% American fleece cotton, which is heavy and built to last. Additionally, much of their apparel is resin washed to add durability and individually dyed with natural colors. When speaking to the quality of their apparel, Almost Home co-founder Luke Murphy had this to say, “If you buy one of our hoodies, you won’t have to buy 10 others because the quality will stand up for a long time.”

How do Almost Home’s clothes fit?

Most of Almost Home’s apparel delivers a boxy, slightly oversized fit. According to their website, hoodies from Almost Home can be expected to deliver a boxy fit with a dropped shoulder. Their track pants feature a relaxed fit with ruched elastic cuffs at the hem and adjustable cinch closures for versatility. Like their hoodies, Almost Home’s t-shirts feature a boxy fit with a dropped shoulder, although the t-shirts also feature a raised neckline.

Where are Almost Home’s clothes made?

For the most part, Almost Home’s apparel is made in Europe, often in Portugal, using high quality materials. Almost Home’s apparel is usually handcrafted and hand-dyed which can result in slight variations in color and shape.

The most popular Almost Home piece on StockX

As a brand that makes elevated basics, it should come as no surprise that hoodies are one of Almost Home’s most popular silhouettes. As far as sales on StockX go, more Almost Home Hoodies have been bought and sold than any other apparel item from the brand. When looking at colorway, the best selling Almost Home apparel item is unquestionably the Rapture Rose First Pick Hoodie, a piece that was release in collaboration with StockX.
