KAWS is an American artist and designer who has been active since the early 1990s. He has carved a name for himself in the art and streetwear worlds, known for his unique characters and massive statues. For Spring and Summer 2019, KAWS has partnered with Japanese apparel retailer Uniqlo for their last ever collaboration to release a limited collection, which includes this KAWS x Uniqlo Flayed Tee White.
As one can imagine, the news of the final partnership between these entities caused some uproar. Online servers retailing the collection crashed and some malls in China were bombarded by shoppers, going so far as to sneak in under security gates, take the display items off of the mannequins, and stand on shelves.
This white tee sports KAWS’ famous Companion character with his left side drawn plush style and right side an anatomical cross-section. You can also find KAWS’ famous XX motif embroidered onto each sleeve.
