The Supreme Fall/Winter 2017 collection is huge and a big part of it was the collaboration with the AKIRA franchise. With unprescedented access to the AKIRA original artwork, Supreme focused on a few scenes from the manga franchise. We see one of those scenes here, the major focus of the Supreme AKIRA Syringe Tee. AKIRA is a story about a new Tokyo that is dealing with the effects of World War III. Government corruption, gangs and drugs are all part of the daily life of NEO-Tokyo, as its called. The scene is moment when one of the main characters is getting an injection. He depends on drugs and pills to control a power buried deep in his body. Going with a lime all-cottone base, the front is kept simple with the Supreme named on the left chest. The back of the tee is where we see the original artwork. The horizontal piece is featured not once, but three times. One of a number of colorways for the tee, the lime was the most attention-grabbing shade made. The Supreme AKIRA Syringe Tee released online and Supreme locations in New York, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, London and Paris on November 2nd, 2017.
