Market Watch: Crazy New Ultra Boosts and a New Jordan Retro Collab

This week has been loaded with last minute sneaker releases and news. We’ve seen the Noble Metals adidas pack, a crazy new Ultra Boost, and new release dates for upcoming Jordan Retros. That said, let’s jump right into things in the latest Market Watch.

adidas PureControl Ultra Boost

Ultra Boosts are one of the few sneakers that can actually live up to the “most comfortable sneaker ever” hype that seems to follow them at every release. Because of that, adidas has released a handful of variations of the Ultra Boost that began as a running shoe. The Ace 16+ soccer boot has been transformed into the PureControl Ultra Boost, a laceless Primeknit-based sneaker that sold out almost instantly for its European debut.

Nike SB Dunk Low “Road”

Elephant or Cement print is always a popular colorup for SB Dunks and Jordans. Ever since the Jordan 3, releases like the Supreme SB Dunks, and other random Jordans like the XX8 have kept this iconic print steadily in the limelight. Now, the “Road” SB Dunk drops this week with a more aggressive “cement” upper and the seemingly perfect white midsole/gum outsole combo.

Nike Air Zoom Spiridon Retro

Originally released in 1997, the Zoom Spiridon is one of those runners from Nike that has a cult-like following. The retro version of the original colorway will release under the NikeLab banner, which could make for some interesting movement on the secondary market. Like most of the NikeLab releases, it will all depend on the number of pairs released but this one will definitely get some of the old ‘heads feeling nostalgic.

Air Jordan 2 Retro “Quai 54”

The Quai 54 World Streetball Basketball Championship continues to produce sneaker heat. Everyone should remember the Jordan 5 releases from a few years back and the Jordan XXX Cosmos still moves the needle but now we get a confirmed release date for the Air Jordan 2 created for this year’s championship.
