Nike Dunk Low Off-White Michigan

There hasn’t been a disrupter in the sneaker world with the same impact as Virgil Abloh in the late 2010s. Nike didn’t usually allow collaborators to completely deconstruct a shoe and change its whole aesthetic. Tastemakers were limited to changing colors and adding a couple of minor details. The case was different for Abloh. His direction was so different and very well accepted.

These Dunks aren’t quite as different as most of his designs. But with them being a retro colorway, it’s quite refreshing to see them getting some sort of special treatment. The overall upper stays true to the original Michigan Dunk colorway with maize and blue color blocking. The only difference is an exposed foam tongue and the quintessential orange tab on the swoosh. Then we get to the loud, orange piping.

We’ve seen this detail on many OFF-WHITE Nikes this year, but they aren’t the laces like on others. The shoe is completed with a white midsole and blue outsole. The Nike Dunk Low Off-White Michigan originally released on December 20, 2019, at a retail price of $170.
