Supreme Reversible Colorblocked Fleece: Supreme Pick Of The Week

Just as we can expect the sun to rise each morning, we can expect Supreme to announce a new collaboration almost every week. Even though it’s the collaborations that generate the most hype each week, every now and then, Supreme reminds us that they’re still dropping bangers on their own. The Supreme Reversible Colorblocked Fleece Jacket which dropped as a part of the brand’s FW20 Week 8 release is one of them. This Supreme fleece is both playful and utilitarian making it an absolute slapper of a jacket that’ll both complete your fit pic and keep you warm this winter. 

The Supreme Reversible Colorblocked Fleece released in two colorways, Red and Purple, both of which pull their inspiration from the work of Dutch artist Piet Mondrian’s famous Composition works. The red, white, yellow, and blue colorway pulls from Mondrian’s most famous Composition artwork, Composition II in Red, Blue, and Yellow from 1929. Both the painting and the garment it inspired evoke a playful spirit, creating a draw to this Supreme Fleece like few other pieces released by the brand of late. The purple colorway seems to pull its inspiration from a separate Mondrian Composition work created in 1919 that features similar but not identical colors. It’s rare that every colorway of a piece is a 10/10 but Supreme did the thing with these fleeces, delivering playful-artsy vibes with the red, blue, and yellow colorway and a warm, inviting palette with the purple. These Supreme fleeces released on October 15th, 2020, at a retail price of $238 USD.

This Supreme fleece may have stolen our hearts in Week 8, but the release of such a fun and exciting jacket happens more frequently than you may notice. In terms of fleeces, Supreme needs no help creating something their fans will love. They famously and routinely collaborate with The North Face on fleece jackets but Supreme’s own jackets often offer up something just as interesting. The 2019 Bandana Fleece may have been the hottest jacket to release in FW20, adding character and flare to any outfit lucky to have it incorporated. Supreme’s FW18 Reversible Logo Fleece has, since its release, become one of the brand’s most fun and identifiable jackets to be found in the wild. Both the Supreme Leopard Fleece Jackets released in FW17 and the SS19 Wolf Fleece are spectacularly unique and well made. When it comes to the Supreme fleece jacket, even though it may not be a collaboration, it’s almost guaranteed to stand out, sell out, and demand attention.
