Drawing its inspirations from JLCā€™s models from the 1930s and the 1950s, theĀ Jaeger-LeCoultre Deep Sea Chronograph Vintage Cermet Q208A57J Black watch blends a classic look with cutting-edge materials. To be precise, cermet is a mixture of ceramic and metal which guarantees both excellent shock-resistant capabilities and reduced weight and it is considerably lighter than titanium, another popular watchmaking material.

The 44mm case houses the automatic JLC 758 caliber with a 65-hour power reserve. The dial is black and features three subdials: 12-hour, 30-minute, and 60-second. Additionally, the chronograph has a neat function where it gives you a visual clue as to its operation. It allows you to see if it is paused or completely turned off and introduces a bit of color to the dial.Ā The piece is water resistant up to 100m. The ā€œdeep seaā€ from the name refers to the vintage watches which served as the visual inspiration, not the function. However, you can freely wear it when you are swimming or snorkeling. It wonā€™t even cause any problems with the strap since it is fabric.

The retail price was between $15,000 and $17,000, but it is now discontinued. However, you can turn StockX and if you want a watch that blends new materials with a tried-and-tested look.
