Best Sneaker This Week

Nike Air Max 96 II Goldenrod

Letā€™s preface this weekā€™s Drop List with a nod to the era that popularized the sneaker cultureā€“ the ā€˜90s. As youā€™ll read, Nike has paid homage to the era with a few recent collabs, and the Nike Air Max 96 II that released in various arrangements throughout the years deserves more recognition. The pair established its place within the Air Max history over two decades ago and has since been an icon to modern avant-garde and everyday fashion.Ā

The design stays true to the original with synthetic leather and lightweight mesh, while the Nike Ultra sole provides all day comfort.

Most Expensive Sneaker

Air Jordan 3 Oregon Ducks Pit Crew

Coming in at a sale of $6725 this week is the Air Jordan 3 Oregon Ducks Pit Crew sneakers. The shoe, a nod to the University of Oregonā€™s student fanbase, the Pit Crew, emerged with school spirit with the Oregon ā€˜Oā€™ prominently on the tongue. The shoe is creatively made up with duck feet on the heel in a black and white colorway with elephant print on the toe and heel.

Best Sneakers Releasing This Week

Air Jordan 4 Canyon Purple

Twilight takes form in this Air Jordan 4 Canyon Purple sneaker. Rich in a Canyon Purple suede arrangement, this sneaker evokes a day-to-night look and feel. The shoe features a moody speckled motif, an energetic blast of Safety Orange, and covert hits of Alligator green for an edgier look.

Nike Dunk Low Clark Atlanta

A classic HBCU in a Nike sneaker? Yes please. In partnership with Clark Atlanta University, Nike delivers this unstoppable Dunk Low with immense amounts of Panther pride. Designed by Heather Haynes, this Dunk Low is designed in a white, black, and red color arrangement to match the universityā€™s team logo. To amp up the cheer even louder, CAU motifs are delivered via the ā€œFIND A WAY OR MAKE ONEā€ text throughout the laces, ā€œClark Collegeā€ texted in the tongue, and ā€œ1998ā€ embroidered on the heel. All of these special features are an ode to the time Clark College and Atlanta University united to form the now Clark-Atlanta University.

Nike Air Force 1 Billie Eilish Sequoia

Coming to the stage is this Nike Air Force 1 Billie Eilish Sequoia. Following the success of the AF1 Mushroom, this iteration of the silhouette comes dressed in a khaki hue with a load of extra, oversized details. Obviously, the five velcro straps give a nod to Billieā€™s edgy vibe with subtle branding hits on the insoles. This bold, bulky hightop is sure to make centerstage this fall.Ā

Nike Air Force 1 Bronx Origin

Old school hip-hop gets its flowers in the form of the Nike Air Force 1 Bronx Origin. Itā€™s no secret that early hip-hop culture paved the way for popularizing the AF1. So, Nike is paying tribute to the culture that propelled the silhouette. Along with the 40th anniversary of the iconic sneaker, the show highlights the birthdates of hip-hop and the inception of the AF1ā€“ 1973 and 1982. The colorway, a classic crisp white with black Swoosh logos, is spot on to the old school hip-hop era. To top off the influential culture, gold Nike Air embroidery is placed throughout.Ā

Nike Dunk Low Wolf Grey and Pure Platinum

The latest Nike Dunk Low Wolf Grey comes in a versatile day-to-night look and feel. With a timeless, casual, and tailored aesthetic, this Dunk Low sports a silky smooth nylon liner and premium, crisp leather to match. This pair is sure to shake up your Dunk rotation.

Reebok Question Mid Black Gold

The ā€˜90s continue to make a comeback and Iā€™m not mad at it. This Reebok Question Mid is the perfect combination of nostalgia and luxury. The pair boasts an opulent design of smooth jet black leather, a quilted tongue and collar, and metallic gold Reebok hardware throughoutā€“ all made with the same deluxe material. This iteration of Allen Iversonā€™s signature shoe is finished with hexagonal cushioning and the classic translucent outsole.

New Balance XC-72 x AURALEEĀ

Modern, yet timeless, the new AURALEE x New Balance XC-72 collection was designed to look ahead while acknowledging the classics. The sleek shoes, both in pale tones of chocolate brown and aquamarine, are made up in a suede overlay with chunky soles, and an oversized stability heel clip. These shoes are complimentary of the stylishly distressed look and feel of modern and timeless aesthetics.
