The Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Cream White<\/a>, also known as the Yeezy 350 Triple White, is set to restock this week, as Kanye continues his transition from elitist to populist, and Yeezys continue their (d)evolution from rarified to commonplace.<\/p>\n

Kanye’s entire reputation in the sneaker game has been built on the twin pillars of scarcity and hype. Make the\u00a0product extremely limited and keep anticipation at a fever pitch – from these simple propositions, an entire footwear empire was born.\u00a0But can the hype be maintained when the product is unlimited? It looks like we’re about to find out.<\/p>\n

Early last summer, Kanye announced his intention to bring Yeezys to the masses. And the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Cream White restock was said to be the primary vehicle for this ambition.\u00a0News reports claimed that available pairs would number in the\u00a0millions. <\/em>Consumers were promised a chicken in every pot and a Yeezy in every closet.<\/p>\n

The restock hasn’t even happened yet, but the news alone is making waves in the market, as resellers brace for a potentially seismic increase of Triple White supply. We analyzed the last 50 days of price and sales data to see how the market has reacted.<\/p>\n

On August 20th, adidas\u00a0officially and definitively announced that the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Cream White restock was imminent; meanwhile, Kanye took to Twitter and proclaimed that the upcoming restock would be the “the largest drop ever”. That same day, Cream White sales volume increased eight-fold<\/strong>, as sellers rushed to offload their pairs before prices collapsed.<\/p>\n

In the weeks that followed, sales volume stabilized. But over the last 3 days, sales have started to tick up again. As for prices:<\/p>\n

Once again, the dramatic movement took place back in August. When the month began, the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Cream White was selling for a respectable $400 a pair. The day of Kanye’s restock tweet, prices fell below $350 – a depreciation of nearly 15%.<\/p>\n

Prices then proceeded to rebound, climbing back to nearly $375. Yet the recovery was shortlived, and prices have started falling again over the past few days.\u00a0As of this writing, they’re down to $325 a pair- the lowest the Cream Whites have ever sold for in all of StockX history.<\/p>\n

If this trend continues, prices for the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Cream White may very well fall below $300- a distinction shared only with one other Yeezy colorway, the Yeezy 350 “Butter”. This, of course, is the downside of “Yeezys for Everyone”: if everyone has them, no one will want them.<\/p>\n
