As a part of their IKEA Art Event, the Swedish-founded furniture and home goods brand has tapped several artists to design carpets that will make us rethink our relationship with the item. One of the artists included in this series is Nike collaborator, Off-White Founder, and Men\u2019s Artistic Director at Louis Vuitton, Virgil Abloh. Abloh\u2019s contribution to the IKEA Art Event has been long anticipated, with news of the release coming first in 2017. The newly released rug features Abloh\u2019s signature quotation marks surrounding the words “KEEP OFF\u201d, delivering a playful sense of irony. <\/span><\/p>\n

The addition of the IKEA x Virgil rug to StockX\u2019s streetwear catalog will mark the second time this year that we\u2019ve added an Abloh collaboration on a non-clothing, non-sneaker item with a non-clothing, non-sneaker company, following his collaboration earlier this year with Evian. Abloh\u2019s collaboration with Evian resulted in several reusable water bottles<\/a> that also featured his signature quotation mark design touch. <\/span>As Virgil\u2019s \u201cMidas Touch\u201d effect leads to the continued selling out of his collaborative and creative projects, we\u2019ll continue to add them to our catalog. Keep an eye out for further collaborations between the furniture brand and Mr. Abloh as rumor has it that multiple other rugs and decorative items could be dropping later this year. Among the rumored items is the widely polarizing and assumedly ironic “WET GRASS” rug.\u00a0 The “BLUE”, “GREY”, and popular “STILL LOADING” rugs (which are also listed here<\/a> on StockX) have seen a very limited release, but are rumored to be dropping worldwide soon.
