Market Watch: Pharrell NMDs, Shattered Backboards, OVO Jordan 12s & More

It’s been quite the week of new releases since we last took a look at the secondary sneaker market in our weekly Market Watch column. While Kanye West is the most vocal of modern day sneaker collaborators, Pharrell Williams’ partnership with adidas continues to be tremendously successful as well. The latest of Pharrell’s Human Race adidas NMD releases dropped today and subsequently sold out, turning your average Throwback Thursday into a Sadderday of sorts for many people. Which of course, is basically just salt in the wounds following the Yeezy V2 release last weekend. But that’s not the only things that were going on this week…

The Shattered Backboard 2.0 or Reverse Shattereds, we’re originally scheduled to drop October 1st but that release date was pushed back to October 8th this week, which probably is a good thing considering the other releases this weekend.

The adidas NMD continues to be a surprise winner amongst new releases. Despite restocks galore and what seems to have become an endless amount of colorways, Nomads continue to sell out with every new release. This weekend another 10+ NMD releases will hit retail, including the new “trail” version called the adidas NMD C1 Trail.

Drake and Future may be battling with Kanye for the hottest tour of “Summer Sixteen,” but Drizzy is on his own level when it comes to his OVO Jordan collabs. As of now, these are set to drop this weekend and the pre-release Bid and Ask action has been busy to say the least. With a handful of Bids already above $500 before the release date, these will be worth keeping your eye on.

Pharrell x adidas NMD “Human Race”

The Pharrell x adidas collabs continue to put numbers on the board for the Three Stripes, and for the secondary sneaker market. Early action on the resell game for these has the green colorway with the highest average deadstock price and the “Scarlet” red colorway with the most sales, despite the blue colorway getting the most pre-release attention. But whatever colorway you grabbed, you made some decent money if you flipped them, and if the original Human Race NMD is any indicator, the sneaker world will be paying close attention to all of these Pharrell x adidas releases.
