Father's Day Favorites

Fatherā€™s Day is upon us, and we are a little over a month away from basketball coming back!Ā  LeBron is on a mission to bring home a title to Tinseltown this year and the sports card market has reacted and continues to climb each day. Of course, while we all know LeBron for his accomplishments on the hardwood, this season has also given us a terrific look into LeBron as a father, cheering for his son Bronny as only a Dad can do. To honor the holiday, and our favorite Dad in Basketball we look at the Kingā€™s 5 most Valuable cards on StockX.

5. LeBron James 2003 Topps Rookie #221

5. LeBron James 2003 Topps Rookie #221

LeBronā€™s 2003 Topps Rookie is a classic. It features a dapper 18-year-old LeBron donning a white suit, holding his now-iconic Cavs jersey on NBA draft night in 2003. This card, PSA 10, has sold for as high as $3,000 on StockX.

4. Lebron James 2003 Bowman Chrome Rookies & Stars Rookie #123

Bowman cards started as a promotional item you could find in Bowman gum which was founded back in 1927. It was acquired by Topps in 1956 and has since been a staple of the brand.Ā  LeBronā€™s Bowman Chrome Rookies & Stars #123 shows LeBron cheesinā€™ early in his NBA career. PSA 10 has hit as high as $3,480 on StockX.

3. LeBron James 2003 Topps Chrome Rookie #111

Much like LeBronā€™s Lakers team, this basketball card has gone absolutely crazy this year. Even as late as December you could cop this card, PSA 10, for around $2,000. Just before the NBA announced it was suspending its season, LeBronā€™s 2003 Topps Chrome Rookie #111 PSA 10 hit $6,500. While it hit a slight decline during the hiatus, this card is starting to rise again and fast.Ā

2. LeBron James 2003 Topps Finest Rookie #133

LeBron James 2003 Topps Finest Rookie #133

A true treasure for anyone who PCs LeBron. The Akron Hammerā€™s Topps Finest Rookie #133Ā shows a focused LeBron rising for a one-handed flush against a holographic background. With a PSA 10 population report of 39, this card feels like a steal when it went for $6,800 late last month.

1. LeBron James 2003 Topps Chrome Rookie Refractor #111

LeBron James 2003 Topps Chrome Rookie Refractor #111This card is one of the crown jewels of King James cardboard. As the refractor, it shows the same image, of course, as the card in the three spot on this list – LeBron rising up for a jumper with one of the most feared defenders of the day just watching in aw. Being the refractor though, this card offers a rainbow-Esque effect when held in the light. As a Gem Mint BGS 9.5 this card sold earlier this month for $20,000 on StockX.

So whether you are looking for last-minute gifts for Dad, or youā€™re a father looking to share the hobby with your son or daughter, any of the cards on this list are sure to make the day a memorable one.
