The Air Jordan 9 was the ninth signature shoe that resulted from the Nike X Michael Jordan collaboration. Like many of its predecessors, it was designed by Tinker Hatfield. Michael Jordan never ended up wearing any of the 9s on the court. By the time they were ready for release, he had already announced his retirement from the game.

The first four colorways of the ninth Jordan model were the Powder Blue, Black and White, Olive, and Charcoal iterations. These colorways were constructed out of leather for the majority of the upper, with the collar, heel, and mudguard dressed in nubuck. For smooth tightening and loosening, they had the one-pull speed lacing system. Underfoot, they had Air-cushioned midsoles and rubber outsoles with interesting patterns. Nike handed six players exclusive editions of the Air Jordan 9 in their team colors and with their jersey numbers stitched on the heel. The players were Kendall Gill, BJ Armstrong, Latrell Sprewell, Penny Hardaway, Mitch Richmond, and Harold Miner. Over the years, varying IXs have hit the market. Some, like the ”Citrus” have maintained the original build, while others, like the Low “Bright Mango” have taken a slightly different dimension.

The Air Jordan 9 is an outstanding shoe line. We hold this opinion because it can handle a variety of terrain, notably hardwood floors and carpeted rooms, and has a unique appearance, particularly when walking on wet surfaces or snow, given that its leather upper is treated to a unique process that makes it waterproof.

Besides offering elite Air Jordan 9 shoes, Nike offers several elite accessories and apparel that you can pair with your preferred IX colorway. Whether you want a sweater or even a hat, Nike's accessories catalog will leave you with plenty of options.
