I moved to Milan from a small village in a Piemontese valley after years of intense action in the hip-hop scene, painting trains at night with my co-writer Blef under the name of ‘Duo Dinamico’. In the year 2000 in Milan, Ango, Tina, Rob, Elisa, Satia, Marcorso and I founded the first Italian queer collective ‘Pornflakes Crew’ and here is where I started working as a DJ and having a ‘daytime’ artistic activity (navigating in the zine publishing world too) while working in the artistic department of a big fashion publishing house. This more ‘institutional’ job allowed me to have the flexibility to participate in art residencies in various cities in Italy and abroad and to cultivate my interests, such as the all-gender girl and non-binary group Tomboys Don’t Cry, created together with Dj S/HE. A few years later, in 2013, with Sara Serighelli (founder of O’association), I inaugurated the first edition of SPRINT—Independent Publishers and Artists’ Books non-profit fair, that combines Sara’s and my interest in publishing. Since 2018 SPRINT has collaborated with Spazio Maiocchi, a cross-disciplinary ideas aggregator originating from visionary founding partners Slam Jam and Carhartt WIP. As far as the present is concerned, besides the ongoing publishing fair, I’m mainly focussing on my artistic and research practice, hoping to get back to dancing in clubs soon!
