A Mystery Box is a StockX experience that gives you the option to purchase a themed box, reveal a randomly selected item, and then choose either to ship the item to yourself or instantly sell it back for StockX Credit.

After purchase, a reveal animation displays your item, including the item image, value, and tier. You then have 5 minutes to make your selection.

Every item is chosen through a random selection process that pulls from a specific value tier. The system factors in your chosen size, available inventory, and pricing checks to find the right match. Each pull is completely independent, so your odds are the same every time, no matter how many boxes you've purchased.

Tiers are value bands that group items by market price. Higher tiers contain higher-value items; lower tiers contain items priced closer to the Mystery Box listing price. StockX determines each item's tier using historical sales data and a pricing model to make sure items are fairly and accurately valued.

Yes. Every user has the same predetermined odds for every Mystery Box purchase. Odds are fixed, so they don't change based on time of day, inventory levels, or how many boxes have been purchased.

Please note: If a tier runs out of inventory, the Mystery Box will be listed as out of stock until inventory is restored.

If no decision is made by timer expiration, StockX will attempt to charge the initial payment method selected and ship the revealed product.

All Mystery Box items are covered by our Buyer Promise. Note that if a return is approved, refunds are limited to the original purchase price only. StockX will not provide compensation for any losses beyond the original purchase amount. Learn more: What is the StockX Buyer Promise? 

After your item is revealed, you have up to 5 minutes to sell it back for StockX Credit. The credit amount, between 80–90% of the item's list value, is shown at the time of reveal. Once you select Sell Back for Credit, StockX Credit is immediately added to your StockX account and ready to use.

 

Please note: StockX Credit cannot be withdrawn as cash and is only valid for purchases on StockX within 1 year of issuance.

If the credit fails to apply to your StockX account, our Customer Service team will assist you further.

Once the Sell Back for Credit option is selected, the transaction is final and cannot be reversed. We are unable to issue refunds or make exceptions for selections made in error. Learn more: StockX Terms and Conditions

If your payment method fails to process, you will receive StockX credit for the purchase price of the Mystery Box.
