Smart Bidding is an optional feature that automatically increases your existing Bid over time, up to a maximum limit set by you. Smart Bidding helps you stay competitive without the need to update your Bid manually.
This feature is currently only available to customers included in our closed beta on iOS.
How does Smart Bidding work?
Once enabled, you’ll establish both a minimum and maximum Bid threshold, as well as the frequency at which your Bid should increase.
The system will automatically boost your Bid in increments until the Bid reaches your defined maximum threshold, or it successfully matches with the Lowest Ask.
Smart Bidding will never exceed the threshold you set, but please make sure you set a cap you're comfortable with.
How do I enable Smart Bidding?
You can enable Smart Bidding on the Bid Placement screen during checkout, or the Buying Current table for Bids that have already been submitted. This feature can only be enabled using the latest version of our iOS app.
Can I disable Smart Bidding after I’ve turned it on?
You can disable or edit Smart Bidding anytime from the Buying Activity > Current Bids section of your StockX profile.
Can I use Smart Bidding on Buy Now orders?
The Smart Bidding feature was designed exclusively for bidding and is not applicable to Buy Now transactions.
What is the default Bid increase amount?
The default increase amount is $1 USD in the US. In other countries, the minimum top-up is the local currency equivalent of $1 USD, rounded to the nearest 10.
Can I change how much my Bid increases?
You can customize how much your Bid increases by clicking on Advanced Settings on the Bid entry page.
What is the default frequency for Bid increases?
The default frequency is once every day. This can be customized to match your preferences.
What happens if multiple users reach the same Bid amount at the same time?
In the event of a tie, the user whose Bid reached the Ask amount first wins. This is determined by a system timestamp.
How long does my Smart Bid stay active?
Smart Bids expire one month after reaching your maximum threshold or if not matched.
Can I set a custom maximum Bid threshold?
You can set a custom maximum Bid threshold, which must be higher than your initial Bid. This will act as the ceiling for auto-bidding.
Will I get notified if my Bid updates?
You will receive a notification once your Bid has been placed. Additional notifications will be added in future updates.
Does Smart Bidding guarantee I’ll win the item?
While Smart Bidding increases your chances by keeping your Bid competitive, winning still depends on the Lowest Ask, Seller behavior, and other Bids.
Does Smart Bidding work for all products?
Smart Bidding works for all products where bidding is supported.
Can I track my Smart Bid history?
You can view your Bid status and auto-update history in the Buying Activity > Current Bids section of your StockX profile.
Can I view and edit my Smart Bids on the Web or Android?
If you placed a Smart Bid from your iOS app, you will see it listed in your Bid History under Smart Bidding. Smart Bids can only be edited via the iOS app.
Will Smart Bidding negatively affect my chances?
Our data shows that updated Bids have twice the conversion rates of untouched Bids. Smart Bidding can help ensure your Bids remain competitive and optimized without constant manual adjustments.
