Why am I unable to place an Ask?

If you are unable to place an Ask, it may be due to one of the reasons below:

Invalid or Missing Payment Method
In order to sell an item on StockX, you are required to have a valid credit card on file within your StockX account. If this is missing or invalid, you’ll receive a “CC Authorization Failed” error message.

To resolve this issue, you can update your payment information by simply navigating to the Settings section of your account using a web browser.

Keep in mind, if your credit card is removed while you have items listed on the marketplace, your current Asks may be inactive. Once you’ve added your payment method, you can reactivate your Asks by completing one of the following steps:
  • Adjust the price of your listed item(s)
  • Re-list your item(s)

Selling is On Hold
StockX's marketplace depends on every Ask and Bid being real, active and dependable, so as a safety precaution, your account may be placed under a temporary hold as a new Seller if you exceed the site's cap on pending sales before any of them have successfully passed verification and made their way to a Buyer.

If this happens, you'll still be able to navigate StockX, but you won't be able to place any more Asks or Bids. The good news is that once all of your pending sales have been completed, your account will be reinstated for full use.

Please bear in mind that high-value items may incur additional processing times before your account is fully reinstated.

Ask is Flagged
To uphold the integrity of the marketplace, all order attempts undergo a check by our risk prevention partner to examine a multitude of data points and determine the risk of the Ask. Due to this, you may be unable to place an Ask if it is flagged.

The more history you build, and the more consistent your behaviors are in the use of our site, as well as other sites, will decrease the chances of your Asks being flagged.

If you receive an error when attempting to place an Ask, please update your account details as instructed in the error message you received, and attempt to place your Ask once more. If you are still unable to do so, Contact Us for additional assistance.
