Why is my account on hold or suspended?

Account holds and suspensions on StockX result from specific policy violations that vary based on your role as a buyer or seller. Suspensions apply across both the Verified Marketplace and Listings Marketplace simultaneously. Review the suspension types below to identify the cause and next steps.

Repeated cancellations
Repeated incomplete sales are the most common reason for seller account suspension. Failure to ship items for verification, or sending items that do not pass the StockX verification process, will result in penalty fees and eventual suspension depending on the number of failures and severity.
  • If this is your first offense, you can submit an appeal after 6 months from your original suspension date.
  • Multiple suspensions are permanent.

Chargeback filed
Buyer accounts are suspended when a dispute is filed on one or more orders. If you suspect account fraud or made an accidental purchase, advise StockX Customer Service before filing a chargeback with your financial institution, as StockX may be able to resolve the issue directly.
  • Contact your payment provider for questions about an open dispute or to withdraw the dispute.
  • Suspension appeals related to disputes are only reviewed once a final decision is made on the dispute (30 days or more).

Duplicate account
Accounts are suspended when account information matches an existing suspended account. Creating a new account after a suspension is not permitted and may result in further suspensions and complications.
  • To appeal, identify the original suspended account and submit your appeal using that account's details.

Terms of Service violation
Accounts are suspended when account activity or content violates Community Guidelines. This includes usernames, listing images and descriptions, and interactions with others on the platform.

Penalty charge failure
Accounts are suspended due to unpaid penalties or other charges related to canceled sales. Suspension appeals related to penalty charge failures are only reviewed once billing information has been updated and collection of funds owed has been authorized.

Regulatory requirement
Selling privileges and pending payouts are suspended when required account information was not provided or could not be verified to meet a regulatory requirement.

How to appeal
Submit a Suspension Appeal Form after reviewing the relevant suspension type above.

If you are unsure why your account was suspended, StockX sends a notification email with the suspension reason and details at the time of suspension. If you did not receive this email or need further clarification, StockX Customer Service will assist you further.
