Editor’s Note: Even though he’s busy being behind the scenes, Bobby Wesley lets his work speak for itself. You’ve seen it without possibly knowing as he recently styled Future for the cover of XXL Magazine and came through with the heat for Roddy Rich’s The Box music video. For over 12 years, Bobby Wesley has worked with the best of them, styling for commercials, tours, awards shows, publications, and dressing your favorite celebrity artists. As it says on his website, Bobby Wesley is “‘Living, breathing, and eating’ fashion” even from the confines of his own home. We were able to chat with Wesley for another installment of On the Line With on how he’s able to keep flexing his fashion muscle and ways he’s keeping busy.

Describe what you do for a living and how you’re adjusting to social distancing.

I’m a celebrity stylist, who work with rappers such as Gunna, Roddy Ricch, Future, Young Thug, Da Baby and others. With my clients all being in the middle of their projects. I am always busy with them, juggling video shoots, press appearances and photoshoots. Going from moving around so much, to not moving at all is very extreme. I’ve enjoyed the first 2 days of not working, but then I started missing work a bit. I was sick in February, so I am in total understanding of social distancing and definitely do my part in staying away from people.

During this time of social distancing, people are leaning on things such as streaming services, puzzles, at-home workout classes, to name a few, what activities are you using to take your mind off of things?

So, I developed a little schedule for myself, since I normally don’t do these things when I’m working. I wake up and  drink a glass of lemon water. Then I do an Insanity Workout session on my laptop, catch up on Netflix specials, and then I play Call Of Duty on Xbox One (Warzone is the shit).

What is keeping you grounded/balanced at the moment?

For me, the mixture of information is keeping balanced. I talk to my friends and family a lot, to make sure they are all well. Also to get information that they may have received from he current day. I also do research on the pandemic that we are facing, so that I’m aware of what’s going on in the world.

Have you stayed connected to friends and family during this time?

Most definitely. Staying connected with friend and family is the most important thing anyone that’s going through this madness can do.

How do you typically start your day? What daily rituals are you practicing?

When I wake up, I check my messages on my phone. Surf IG for a bit and then I get my workout on, with Insanity. Once I freshen up from my workout, I reply to my emails while I watch the news. Once I’ve had enough of the sad news, I grab lunch and enjoy Netflix or OnDemand while I see what’s going on in the entertainment and fashion world. After that, I play some Call Of Duty, so that I can connect with some of my boys and play some video games.

How are you staying productive while at home? Any useful tips?

Aww man.. It’s tricky.. So I took part in 1 or 2 of those ‘Top 5’ sneaker challenges and felt bad about it, because it’s not a time to be showing off your rarest kicks. But I do love looking to see what all the other sneaker heads and stylists have in their collection. I also read up on all the fashion blogs, just to see what’s going on in the fashion world. I have been doing a little online shopping as well too.. Guilty for that lol.

What advice would you give to someone who’s struggling in isolation right now?

If you’re struggling from isolation at the moment, please try new things at home. I’ve been at home for 3 weeks or a month. I lost count. But I actually started looking up recipes and cooking new things. I found the joy in going to the grocery story and buying different seasonings for when I cook. So just try new things at home, watching TV can get boring, so try reading a book. Social media can get boring, so try making calls to you friend and family. I hated FaceTime, But I love Zoom Parties now. So yeah, trying new things and surprising yourself in the new wave.

What accomplishment are you most proud of while social distancing?

Working out 6 Days in a week is a major accomplishment. Cooking a meal is a major accomplishment.

What are you most looking forward to once this is over?

Getting back to work and back to accomplishing the goals that I set for 2020. This pandemic has been a major setback for many of us, but we have to all be thankful that we made it out in good health and strength. Because thousands of people didn’t. So with all the things that I have taken for granted, I look forward to checking up on my friend and family more and enjoying peace and serenity a little more.
