January is a notoriously slow month for new streetwear. With big hitters like Supreme and Palace taking a pause until February, January has been left up to newcomers and one-off collaborations. The month began with the addition of two Carhartt WIP collaborations, one with A.P.C and the other with Awake NY, and ended with the extension of our Anti Social Social Club offering to include their full FW19 collection. January’s most exciting release finally saw us on the receiving end of Beyoncé’s long-awaited Ivy Park x adidas collaboration which featured both sneakers and streetwear items, including several different styles of bags. Check out new streetwear additions in January from Beyoncé’s adidas collaboration to Anti Social Social Club on StockX below!

Ivy Park x Adidas

Beyoncé’s collaboration with adidas was first announced in April of 2019 but things went dark for the next eight months (basically an eternity in the world of streetwear). In early January it was reported that the partnership’s first delivery would drop on the 21st and include both apparel items and sneakers. The entire collection sold out immediately, leading to big sales numbers the following week on StockX with the most popular item, the cargo sweatpants, releasing in both maroon and ecru colorways. For those looking to spice up their activewear game, either colorway will be enough to get the job done and you should probably just grab both while the price is as accessible as it is, if we’re being honest. Carhartt WIP

As streetwear continues to envelop the multifaceted ways people dress everyday, workwear has consistently become the go-to option of many. It’s no surprise that Carhartt WIP, Carhartt’s more fashion-forward sub-brand, has become the subject of multiple collaborations in January alone. Carhartt WIP’s collaborative capsule with Paris fashion brand A.P.C. released first, delivering a refined look on several basic workwear staples including Talk Coats and Chore Jackets as well as tees, crewnecks, hats, and other basics. The elevated workwear brand’s next January collaboration came with Angelo Baque’s Awake NY spicing things up a little bit, releasing three contrasting colored Michigan Chore Coats alongside tees, beanies, and hoodies. A selection of Carhartt’s collaborations can be shopped below, and everything they released in January can be shopped on StockX here.

ASSC FW19

2020 is NOT off to a great start in the world, making it very appropriate that we would add a brand like Anti Social Social Club in a month like January. Following the addition of several Anti Social Social Club collaborations, we’ve gone and got the ASSC Fever, extending our offering to everything they released as a part of their FW19 collection. The season’s highlights feature pieces like the storm-covered Twister Hoodie and collaborations with Hello Kitty and Hot Wheels. A selection of Anti Social Social Club’s FW19 collection can be shopped below and the entire season can be found on StockX here.

Year of the Rat

The rat is not highly thought of in western culture. Rats are bad – we see them as filthy, scavengers, and distrustful. Through the lens Chinese Zodiac though, the rat is considered to have positive qualities far different from those assigned by western culture. Those born during the Year of the Rat are said to be acute, cautious, calm, and adaptable. In honor of the Chinese New Year and the beginning of the Year of the Rat, Dover Street Market collaborated with brands like Nike, BAPE, Stussy, Noah, Brain Dead and more on a rat themed tee capsule. The most popular pieces from the capsule come courtesy of Nike, who released several shirts featuring furry friends interacting with Nike’s Swoosh Logo. Former Louis Vuitton Creative Director, Marc Jacobs, also got in on the rat-themed fun, collaborating on a four-piece collection with streetwear brand Stray Rats. The capsule, which featured Frank Ocean in its lookbook, includes two striped sweaters, a tee, and a hoodie. Shop the Nike x DSM Year of the Rat tees and several other Chinese New Year Themed items below and every piece dropped in honor of the holiday on StockX here.

Pigalle x Nike

Pigalle, the French Boutique and brand founded by Stephane Ashpool, has had a gigantic last twelve months. They began with multiple collaborations with Jordan Brand in the first half of 2019 and closed out the year opening several of their famous Pigalle-designed basketball courts around the globe. To kick off 2020, they’ve collaborated with Nike on a 15-piece collection basketball collection originally shown at Paris Fashion Week. The release was relatively slow to sell out but has started picking up speed on StockX. The most popular item from the collection was the Tracksuit Jacket which looks like the dressed up lovechild of a track jacket and a suit jacket. Shop a selection of the release below and the entire collaboration on StockX here.

Artist Merch (Kid Cudi x Virgil, Blonded, Yams Day, VLONE City Morgue)

January was also a big month for high-demand artist merchandise. We saw the addition of several new merchandise releases as well as an oldie-but-goodie, courtesy of Kid Cudi and Virgil Abloh. Several pieces of Kid Cudi’s 2017 merchandise for his album, ‘Passion, Pain, And, Demon Slayin’’ designed by Virgil Abloh were added to the catalog in January. While all four tees were designed by Abloh, the black tee, which features colorful graphic album imagery, is an obvious stand out. Aside from Kid Cudi’s work with Virgil Abloh, we also added merchandise from Frank Ocean’s Online Blonded release, ASAP Yams Day, and City Morgue’s collaboration with Vlone. Be sure to check out the ASAP Yams Day merchandise, several pieces of which were designed by everyone’s favorite artist merch collaborator, Cactus Plant Flea Market.
