Supreme has been kicking off new seasons in the same way for years now. The almost formulaic series of events starts with a teaser image, which is posted just over a week before the first release of the new season. That teaser is then followed by the official delivery of a seasonal lookbook and preview on the Monday before Week 1 drop. The actual release takes place three days later and, like clockwork, includes new variations of the brandā€™s popular t-shirts, bags, and accessories. Supreme has potentially added a new piece to the season-opening formula, delivering some variation of a Box Logo Hoodie in Week 1 of both Spring/Summer 2021 and Spring/Summer 2022. The Supreme Bling Box Logo Hoodie is Spring/Summer 2022ā€™s most significant delivery and has been selected as the subject of this weekā€™s StockX Pick of the Week.

One of the most iconic apparel pieces ever, the Supreme Box Logo Hoodie is known for its remarkable scarcity and propensity to be photographed on celebrities. The Box Logo Hoodie is as old as Supreme itself and the logo has become a status symbol of sorts throughout the world. Over the course of the last 28 years, Supreme has released their Box Logo in all kinds of different variations, ranging from Takashi Murakami artwork and coloured Bandana Prints, to Swarovski Crystals and the Louis Vuitton Monogram. These variations of the Supreme Box Logo have provided fans with the opportunity to get their hands on their favourite limited edition piece.

The Supreme Bling Box Logo Hoodie is well described by its name. Depending on the colourway, the hoodie features a printed Box Logo on its chest with either a metallic gold or silver background and iced out Supreme lettering inside of it. The navy, ash grey, and pink colourways of the hoodie immediately stands out against its contemporaries as they feature rainbow-coloured gems covering the word ā€œSupremeā€ set against a silver metallic background. Like Supremeā€™s other hoodies, the Bling Box Logo is made from the brandā€™s popular heavyweight crossgrain cotton fleece material and was made available in seven different colours at the retail price of Ā£148.

Similar to many of Supremeā€™s most popular pieces over the last few years, the Bling Box Logo Hoodie is a refreshed version of a previously released design. The Supreme Bling Box Logo Hoodie received its original release in the Spring/Summer 2013 season, back when the preview included fewer than 40 new apparel pieces. Alongside the Supreme Bling Box Logo Hoodie, the streetwear brand also released a t-shirt of the same design in 2013, meaning that itā€™s not a stretch for us to expect t-shirt versions this season.

The resurrection of popular heritage Supreme logos has become a go-to tactic of the apparel brand. Last year, for KAWSā€™ 25 year anniversary, Supreme brought back the KAWS Chalk Logo, a must-have collectorā€™s item from 2011, in hoodies, t-shirts, and hats. The year before that they resurrected the Motion Logo, one of their most iconic graphics and an unofficial reference to the 1990 film, Goodfellas. Even Week 1 of Spring/Summer 2022 included more than just one reinvigorated Supreme logo as the brand brought back both the Bling Box Logo and the Classic logo. This theme of recycling logos has proven to be successful on the resale market as fans receive a second shot at grabbing pieces theyā€™ve always wanted. At some point though, it would seem that Supreme would run out of logos to reuse. Perhaps the recent announcement of Supremeā€™s new Creative Director, Tremaine Emory, will lead to a change in strategy as the brand shifts its focus forward under new leadership.
