New month, new drops! Check out some of the biggest releases happening to kick off the first week of May.

New Balance IPO

For the first time ever, we’re partnering with New Balance and No Vacancy Inn on an exclusive IPO release of their latest 650 collaboration. The two have worked together in the past, releasing both a 990v3 and 850 project to deliver NVI’s “Water and WiFi” message. 

This upcoming drop takes a different approach from No Vacancy Inn’s past blue and grey colour schemes, introducing more neutral earth tones. The upper consists of both hairy suede and smooth nubuck with hits of ostrich leather throughout. To top it off, a gum sole is added to complement its minimal look.

Jordan 1 Retro High Royal Toe

After the huge return of the Air Jordan 5 Fire Red this past weekend, Jordan Brand is back, introducing a somewhat familiar colourway to the Air Jordan 1 family. Similar to 2018’s Bred Toe, the Royal Toe takes cues from an OG colourway of the iconic silhouette, the Air Jordan 1 Royal. 

The latest Air Jordan 1 features a full-grain leather upper, with hits of white and a royal blue toe box to give meaning to its name. Just like the Court Purple 1 release in April, the sneaker is also equipped with a leather tongue tab, adding high-quality detail to the fan favourite Jordan model.

New Balance 327

After its 2020 retro in the form of a Casablanca collaboration, the New Balance 327 returns this May in original colourways. First hitting the scene in the 1970s, the 327 placed New Balance as a reputable and trustworthy brand among runners and athletes. This week, the classic sneaker makes its return, paying homage to the model’s original colourways.

Three pairs of the 327 will be released, each featuring contrasting colours on each pair, adding complexity and character to the original silhouette. From there, the shoe features a mix of suede and nylon uppers, in addition to New Balance’s signature “N” logo on the 327’s lateral side. 

The New Balance 327 drops down on New Balance’s site and other global retailers May 9th. 

Yeezy 350v2 Sulfur 

Kanye West and adidas are back with the new Yeezy Sulfur. First released in 2016, the Yeezy 350v2 has become Kanye’s most popular model since moving over to adidas in 2013. From popular colourways, like the Belugas and Creams, the Yeezy 350v2 has grown to be a staple silhouette for the Yeezy line. This week, the Yeezy 350v2 Sulfur is the model’s latest addition to continue the 350v2’s momentous stride. 

The Sulfur 350v2 takes on similar earthy tones that have appeared on recent releases from the Yeezy cohort, such as February’s Earth and March’s Cinder. Like all 350v2s, the upper of the Yeezy Sulfur is entirely knitted out of adidas’ signature Primeknit and dressed in the same colour that bears its name. The midsole is formed with the same ribbed rubber material that we find equipped on all 350v2s. A gum sole ties the entire shoe together for an added layer of detail.
