This week’s sneaker releases take inspiration from all over. Jordan Brand looks back on historic basketball moments, while New Balance’s latest collaboration combines luxury and sport. Take a look at this week’s Drop List to see what should be on your release radar…
Nike Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 Varsity Red
Hot off the heels of its collaboration with California skate brand Stüssy, Nike is back with another rendition of its archive running shoe which also comes in a Metallic Silver colourway. This athletic model was designed by Steven Smith—who’s also behind many of the Yeezy silhouettes we know and love—and feels both retro and futuristic at the same time.
Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Linen
This clean-cut Yeezy Boost arrives as part of Kanye’s SS20 collection and could definitely be in the running to become your go-to summer sneaker. The light, cream colourway reminds us of last year’s Antlia – but with added baby blue at the sockliner and a contrasting mesh stripe. Clean and fresh.
Jordan 6 Retro DMP Black
Jordan Brand takes it back to 2006 with this one. Originally released as part of the ‘Defining Moments Pack’, along with the Jordan XI, this basketball sneaker celebrates Michael Jordan’s duo of three-peats in the ‘90s for the Chicago Bulls. The sleek black and gold hues of this sneaker make it an instant classic to rock and stock.
New Balance 327 Casablanca Idéaliste Orange
New Balance teams up with Charaf Tejer, founder of Parisian brand, Casablanca, for their first collaboration entitled ‘Idéaliste’, and it’s the perfect mix of luxury-meets-sport. The fresh green colourway references crisp tennis uniforms, while the zesty orange offering pays homage to Tejer’s Moroccan heritage.
