In honor of Women’s History Month, we talked with StockX team members about the women who have influenced them, ways to support women in our communities, and more.

For this installment, we talked with StockX team member Mica, an EU content and editorial executive based in London.

This interview has been lightly edited.

Who are the women who have influenced you?

Probably my girlfriends. I have a few different groups of friends, but things they all have in common that I admire are their ambition, intelligence, and creativity. Whether it’s through study, travel, or setting up their own businesses, they’ve influenced me in a way that has shown me anything is possible and not to limit myself.

What is the most overrated or underrated thing at the moment?

Always being “on the grind” is overrated. It’s ok just to chill sometimes and enjoy life. I think doing things just for yourself is underrated at the moment. Not everything has to be documented for the ‘gram for it to be real or worthwhile (even though I’m a culprit of it sometimes).

If you could give advice to your younger self, what would you say?

Don’t overthink too much on what people might think about you or what you’re doing. Do what makes you happy and believe in your sauce.

What is something we can all do, regardless of gender, to lift the voices of women in our communities?

Make sure our spaces are ones where women feel comfortable and confident to speak in and where their opinions are valued. There’s nothing worse than someone dismissing your experience just because they haven’t felt it. Celebrate your fellow women, their achievements, and their points of view.

What’s next for you?

That’s a big question. I’m a big believer in not telling people everything I’ve got in the pipeline until it’s done because I don’t want to jinx things—watch this space!

And BONUS: Has there been a time in your life where another woman has lifted you up? What’s that story and what did it feel like?

I had a manager at an old job who pushed me to grow and try new things that weren’t specific to my job. It felt great to know that she saw my potential and encouraged me to do bigger and better things. I felt valued as a person, not just an employee.
