Sellers who fail to meet StockX requirements may face a penalty fee of $15 USD or local currency equivalent. Penalty fees apply when a seller fails to ship within the required window, or ships an item that does not meet StockX condition guidelines or does not match the item listing. Repeated non-compliance may result in account suspension.
Penalty fees
A penalty fee may apply if:
- The item is not shipped within the required timeframe (typically 2 business days)
- For Listings items, if the item is not shipped in 30 days
- The shipped item does not meet StockX condition guidelines
- The shipped item does not exactly match the item listing on StockX
How penalty fees are collected
Penalty fees are deducted from your payouts. If payouts are insufficient to cover outstanding fees, StockX will charge the card on file.
To use your default payment method (credit or debit card) instead of having fees deducted from payouts, go to Account > Wallet and use the toggle to disable fee deductions. A valid card on file is required when fee deductions are disabled. Penalty fee details can be found in the Fees & Reversals section of your Payout Statement.
StockX reserves the right to batch charge penalty fees on a daily or weekly basis and to retry failed payments. If StockX is unable to recover fees from the card on file, one or more of the following may occur:
- Penalty fee deductions from payouts may be re-enabled
- The ability to place Asks may be restricted
- The account may be suspended
Sellers will receive an email notification when a payment attempt fails.
Please note: StockX will not deduct penalty fees in a way that reduces a seller's payout below $20. If payouts are insufficient to cover outstanding fees during a given period, deductions will be limited. If fees remain unpaid for several consecutive days, the card on file will be charged.
Items that fail verification
StockX cannot guarantee that original receipts will be returned if an item fails verification.
StockX has no obligation to return items that do not conform to the item description (including, without limitation, items that are not new and unworn, are not the correct identified size, or do not include the original box), or are counterfeit. StockX may turn counterfeit items over to the proper authorities at the seller's cost.
