adidas NMD x Bape Camo

One of the most prominent Japanese streetwear brands, A Bathing Ape, aka Bape, is dropping collaborative Camo adidas NMDs Bape was founded in 1993 by designer and all around creative, Nigo. Through limited releases and unprecedented collaborative partnerships, A Bathing Ape grew to become one of the most popular streetwear brands of the 1990s and 2000s. Although Bape is now owned by the Hong Kong conglomerate, I.T Group. Despite the sale of A Bathing Ape in 2011, Nigo, who now has his own collabs with adidas under his own name, remained on with I.T as Creative Director through 2011. In the late 2000s, Bape lost some of its luster amongst streetwear and sneaker enthusiasts but has reestablished itself as a powerful collaborative parter through recent collaborations like the Undefeated x Bape x adidas Superstars. The Bape partnership with adidas goes back to early 2000’s, 2003 to be exact, when the two brands teamed up for a couple of collabs, including the Super Ape Star and Super Ape Skate, which also features the Olive colored camouflage that this year’s adidas NMD collab features. Camo has been a staple in the Bape repertoire, and in November the Bape (A Bathing Ape) x adidas NMD Camo “Olive” and Bape (A Bathing Ape) x adidas NMD Camo “Black” will undoubtedly put the A Bathing Ape brand at the top of the game once again.
