The original Air Jordan 14 “Indiglo” colorway dropped all the way back in the summer of 1999.
The OG Indiglo colorway was one of the early Jordan 14s that had no ties to any team colors, or any specific colors related to Michael Jordan himself. Though, it was worn by other players in the NBA like the Indiana Pacers sharp-shooter, Reggie Miller. Despite the unique color combo of black, white and Indiglo, it was not officially considered a “Lifestyle” or LS colorway. The Air Jordan 14 was the last shoe that MJ wore on the court while playing for the Chicago Bulls, hence the nickname the “Last Shot” colorway, which Michael wore against the Jazz during the NBA Finals in 1998. The Indiglo Jordan 14 Retro uses a combination of tumbled leather and nubuck. The original design of the Air Jordan 14 was created by Tinker Hatfield and inspired by MJ’s Ferrari. You can see the design elements of the Ferrari in the “fast” look of the AJ14 and the Jumpman logo and text that were inspired by emblems of the Italian sports car. The 2016 version of the Indiglo Air Jordan 14 Retro drops August 13th and will also release in youth sizes.
