Best Jordan 1s for Back to School

Summer is almost over, but we never expected to be so excited. As school approaches, so does the opportunity to flex on friends, faculty, and staff. When it comes to back-to-school shoes, you need something comfortable, durable, and stylish and you shouldn’t have to sacrifice one for the other. The Jordan 1 is the best back-to-school shoe around hands down, whether you’re buying them for yourself or your mini-me. If you’re looking to get buckets at recess or just take your style seriously this school year, the AJ1 can do both. Summer is over, but it doesn’t have to be the most awful thing in the world. School is back in session and StockX is here to help you get ready for classes with these Jordan 1s.

Jordan 1 Retro High OG ‘Taxi’

The ‘Taxi’ Jordan 1 was released in September 2022 and has been criminally neglected ever since. Quality wise, the shoe looks outstanding, thanks to the premium tumbled leather used. The shoe features a white leather base with Taxi Yellow on the toe, heel, and outsole. The colorway takes inspiration from New York’s taxicabs. The tongue, laces and toe are black to match the Swoosh and Wings logo on the side of the shoe. They look exactly like the Nike SB Daniel Shimizu Dunk Highs. Currently below retail on StockX, this pair of Air Jordan 1s is the perfect addition to any student’s collection.

Jordan 1 Retro High OG ‘Lucky Green’

The ‘Lucky Green’ Jordan 1 may not match your school’s colors. However, there’s something universally appealing about the white, black, and Lucky Green color combo. This AJ1 high, also known as the ‘Boston Celtics’, features the same classic color blocking as the ‘Bred’ Jordan 1, but in green. This pair dropped in April 2023, but we first saw this ‘Lucky Green’ colorway surface in 2009, as part of Jordan’s 60 Pts Defining Moments Pack. Unlike the 2009 release, the 2023 release is devoid of any Jumpman logo on the tongue and heel. The tongue of the 2023 pair features Lucky Green Nike branding. The shoes also come with black and green laces. Overall, there’s nothing crazy happening with this shoe, but in a classroom setting, sometimes you don’t want crazy. You want consistency, and you’ll find that in the ‘Lucky Green’ Jordan 1.

Jordan 1 Retro High OG ‘Satin Bred’ (Womens)

The ‘Satin Bred’ Jordan 1 takes the classic Black/White/University Red or ‘Bred’ colorway and replaces the leather with a luxurious satin finish. It’s a subtle, but fun reinterpretation of a beloved classic. To be honest, there’s really not much to say here. What you see is what you get. These are Bred 1’s, but they’re shinier. An iconic Jordan silhouette in an iconic colorway, but with a twist. Without a doubt, these are bound to make a bold statement on the first day of school. These dropped in October 2023 for $180 retail, but you can get them on StockX today for much less than that.

Jordan 1 Retro High OG ‘Atmosphere’ (Womens)

A tribute to all the bubble gum Michael Jordan chewed during his NBA career, the ‘Atmosphere’ Air Jordan 1 incorporates Laser Pink on the toe box, heel, collar, and outsole. Don’t be fooled, because the leather upper on this AJ1 is actually dark navy, despite its black appearance in photos. One cool detail about this shoe is that on the shoe’s pink outsole there is a darker pink mark that symbolizes stepping on bubble gum. The shoes come with two extra sets of laces, one pink and one white. Overall, these sneakers are truly unique. Don’t be afraid to start the school year in style with this eye-catching patent leather look.

Jordan 1 Retro High OG ‘Green Glow’

We first saw this colorway on the Jordan 4 in 2013, but it has since made its way to the Air Jordan 1. It’s the same white and black color blocking that the Jordan 1 is known for. However, on the Jordan 1 Retro ‘Green Glow’ we get some extra eye candy. This AJ1 high features a striking Green Glow hue on the toe box, tongue tab, heel, and outsole. A white midsole and mid-panel contrast with the black swoosh. The black tongue and white tongue tab adorned with Green Glow Nike Air branding really tie everything together. Overall, the colorway is really clean and you should be able to pick them up for below retail pretty easily.
