The Supreme AKIRA Soccer Top is one of the unique pieces that came from special Fall/Winter 2017 collection. From the mind of Katsuhiro Otomo, the world of AKIRA takes place in a Japan dealing with effects of being in World War III. A world that is dealing with government corruption, gangs and drugs controlling the streets. Not exactly a place you would see a lot of soccer being played. But that didn’t stop Supreme from putting their spin on a soccer top. They started out with a black cotton blend base with tonal stripe jacquard weave added. The top has a ribbed collar with white stripe added. On the left chest is an image straight from the Otomo manga showing Neo-Tokyo being blown up. Above the graphic embroidered in is the Supreme name in white, while the AKIRA kanji is added in red on the right chest. A piece that stands out from the other Supreme apparel from the collection, the Supreme AKIRA Soccer Top was available starting on November 2nd, 2017.
