Jordan 4s To Watch in 2022

While just about every Jordan silhouette will be revisited in various exciting iterations throughout the year, for the sake of this piece, we’re honing in on what’s to come from the ever-popular AJ4.

Firing out the gates early, we’ve already seen the spectacular Jordan 4 Retro Red Thunder, a slightly tweaked version of the Jordan 4 Thunder from 2012, hit shelves and be snapped up across the board almost instantly.

Jordan 4 Retro Blank Canvas (W)

Set for Feb 24, the Women’s Blank Canvas will no doubt owe a huge amount of its imminent adoration to the ease with which it’ll complete just about any outfit. Unlike the usual mesh material we associate with the AJ4 upper, this will deviate and feature all-over canvas fabric for a more stripped-back, rustic look that’s a fine example of less being more.

Jordan 4 Amethyst Wave

Expected mid-March, the Amethyst Wave, more commonly recognised among the sneaker community as the Zen Master, pays homage to Chicago Bulls head coach Phil Jackson, a key figure in Jordan’s rise to success. Jackson was known for his holistic approach to coaching, inspired by his own ties with Eastern philosophy. The end result is a wavy, tie-dye colour scheme ideal for anyone wanting a more ‘out there’ AJ4 addition to their wardrobe.

Jordan 4 Military Black

Given how colossal a hit the Military Blue proved to be in both 2006 and 2012, revisiting and offering a new twist on the model was always a no-brainer for the brand. This time around, the shoe cuts a seriously clean, monotone look that’s not a million miles away from 2016’s White Cement release, minus the speckled trim. Word on the street is that the Military Black should be with us come May 21.

Jordan 4 Retro Infrared

With a look reminiscent of 2013’s Green Glow, the all-new Infrared keeps things relatively understated thanks to its blending of various greys on the upper. Eye-catching reds that paint the tongue tags and Jumpman logo give off a real Bulls-inspired feel that’ll almost certainly go down well with fans. Coming May 31.

Jordan 4 Olive Canvas

Touted for an August release, the upcoming Olive Canvas bears clear similarities to the super-limited and hallowed Undefeated 4s—that alone will almost certainly amplify its popularity, making the model a far more realistic and budget-friendly alternative to one of the most lucrative shoes in the Jordan collection.

Jordan 4 Canyon Purple (W)

Early mockups of the women’s exclusive point towards a more muted shade of purple suede for the upper, as opposed to a vibrant one. That looks to be accented by a contrasting speckled mint green rubber trim around the sole and a Safety Orange tongue logo. The Canyon Purple is expected to drop around autumn time, but no doubt we’ll get a clearer look at what to expect before then.
