A Word About Condition

Buying or selling a pre-owned watch generally boils down to these details: price, authenticity, and condition. At StockX, the price is set by you: the buyers and the sellers. When it comes to condition and authenticity, sellers and StockX share the responsibility of ensuring each watch meets our condition and authenticity standards before being shipped to the buyer. How do we define “excellent” condition?

Let’s take a closer look.

In broad strokes, excellent condition is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a watch that works as intended, is free of dings and major scratches, maintains factory finish, and shows little signs of wear. Think of it this way, if you loan your favorite watch to a friend, let’s call him Russ, for his wedding, “excellent” is the condition you expect Russ to return your watch in. Sure it’s been worn, but it’s been well taken care of, and it shows.

To better illustrate excellent condition, we’ve broken out each part of a watch and what to look for:

If you’re buying a watch, rest assured that StockX won’t charge you, or ship it to you if it doesn’t meet the above criteria. If you’re selling a watch, please give it a thorough once over to make sure it meets these conditions, and if you have any questions about your watch specifically, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at https://help.stockx.com.
