It seemed like some of the biggest stars in the world – and on StockX – decided to make an appearance during the weeklong celebration of StockX Day. Queen Bey gave notice that she was returning to her throne with a new single and album announcement. Drake dropped a new album that’s a straight-up genre collab with Baltimore Club. Not to be outdone, Eminem makes an appearance with a very expensive sneaker. In addition to the established superstars, a trio of important and idiosyncratic artists – Trixie Mattel, yaya bey, and Grace Ives – all released new albums. And to top it all off, we check back in with a MetroCard Biggie release, the Grammy Award-winning Olivia Rodrigo, and the renewed popularity of One Direction. Find out which music and music-related releases are the most popular, which are the most expensive, and which are coming your way, plus listen to our special curated StockX Day Spotify playlist, in this latest installment of The Spin.
Best New Music Releases This Week
Beyoncé Homecoming: The Live Album LP Vinyl
It’s been three years since Beyoncé released her Homecoming documentary and companion live album. Three long years. Thankfully Queen Bey announced the July release of her seventh album, Renaissance, and blessed the interwebs with the album’s first, glorious single, “Break My Soul.” While we’re counting down the days until July 29th, you can pick up Homecoming: The Live Album, Lemonade, B’Day, or anything from her Ivy Park line to get ready for release day.
Drake Take Care 2XLP Vinyl Black
At this point, Drake is in on the joke about his Drake-isms, right? How else to describe that ridiculous message from the Apple Music release of his new album Honestly, Nevermind. But the album slaps. And that’s why the world seems to stop when he announces a new album: the music is good. As we wait for his seventh album to release on vinyl, feel free and pick up his second and arguably best album, Take Care. Of course, we also have Scorpion, Views, and all things OVO and NOCTA. What a time to be alive.
Trixie Mattel The Blonde & Pink Albums Limited 2XLP VinylHot Pink/White Splatter
File under: Make ‘em say “UNHhhh.” Trixie Mattel is back with her fourth studio album, The Blonde & Pink Albums. The Skinny Legend’s double album features 14 songs of pure pop gold, including “C’mon Loretta,” “Goner,” and “Boyfriend.” Act like you’re not full of bees, and be sure and cop this album.
Best Music Releases
Grace Ives Janky Star Vinyl Black
On her second album, Janky Star, Grace Ives packs a pop-perfect punch of synths, guitars, and layered vocals on a set of songs exploring desire, love, and finding meaning in life – all of this plays out in under 30 minutes. What Ives has given us is her personal playbook to manage the deeply depressing facts of existence. May we all find her courage to be a janky star in our everyday life.
yaya bey Remember Your North Star LP Vinyl Crystal Bleu Curacao
yaya bey’s new album, Remember Your North Star, is a statement of self-love. Through messy takes on motherhood, family, love and sex, and poverty, bey remains fiercely defiant by using the tools at hand, genre-hopping between reggae, R&B, hip-hop, and jazz to tell her story her way. And if there is any justice in the world of pop music, this album will become R&B’s new north star.
MTA NYC Biggie Smalls Notorious B.I.G MetroCard
In celebration of what would have been the Notorious B.I.G.’s 50th birthday, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) partnered with RHINO Entertainment to sell 50,000 Biggie Smalls MetroCards on May 21. Although Biggie only released two albums, Ready to Die, and Life After Death during his short career, he is considered not only one of the greatest rappers from New York, but one of the greatest rappers of all time.
Olivia Rodrigo Sour Urban Outfitters Exclusive LP Vinyl Opaque Purple
StockX favorite Olivia Rodrigo has had a big year. Nominated for seven GRAMMY Awards for her album Sour, she ended up taking home three. On her way to the podium, Rodrigo edged some established stars, including Billie Eilish, Justin Bieber, and Ariana Grande. All this success and only 18 years old. The future looks anything but sour for this pop star.

Limited to 313 pairs – Detroit’s area code – this AJ2 sports a light grey suede upper and red and white lettering at the ankle, and mudguard featuring handwritten lyrics. It sold for almost $4,500, making it the week’s most expensive music product.
