Inspiration, craftsmanship, and heritage. The true depth of a story is almost always hidden within the details. Such is the inspiration behind our newest StockX video series Details, taking a closer look at the aspects that elevate a sneaker from just a piece of footwear to cultural artifact. And the truth is that there might not be a better first pair to kick this off than the colette Air Jordan 1.
A shoe that was born out of a special, private collaboration between Jordan Brand and colette, this shoe actually never released and was a gift from Jordan to colette as a Friends & Family exclusive, paying tribute to their 20 years of business.
The “Bonjour” printed on the left sole along with the debossed “1997” at the heel represents the beginning of colette’s legacy. Respectively, the “Au Revoir” on the right sole with the debossed “2017” symbolises their farewell to colette.
Enjoy taking a closer look at these legendary shoes, and if you want to own a pair, make sure to donate to Oceana before Friday, December 20, 2019.
